15 Day Book Blogging Challenge- Day 1

So I came across this on some other blogs today and was like "I am so doing this!" The 15 Day Book Blogging Challenge was created by April at Good Books, Good Wine. This was a super creative idea and I fully intend to have fun with it! Here is the link to her Day 1 post: Day 1 Post Link

Day 1: Make 15 book related confessions
1. When I borrow people books I give them all bookmarks. Bent pages are the devil. If you treat your own books bad, I will lie about owning them in order to not give them to you.

2. I get really emotional while reading. If something is really sweet or someone dies or anything like that, I cry hysterically. My husband therefore think's I am nuts.

3. Sometimes I forget that characters are not real. I was in love with Edward from Twilight. No joke, he was mine. I have accidentally referenced people from books during a conversation and not realized it until after....I know, just paste the giant L on my forehead right now.

4. If I love the cover I am more likely to read a book. I will also buy the book rather then the Kindle edition based on how awesome the cover is.

5. I know you are suppose to read what you like but, if a book has less them 3.5 stars I don't bother.

6. I have more book boyfriends then actual friends.

7. If I love a book series I often forget to eat and sleep. I read the Twilight series in 4 days...Went to Walmart at 2 am for the next book (didn't have a Kindle yet!). The day the last Harry Potter book came out I faked being sick in order to stay home and read it...finished it that day. For the record I was in high school and it was totally worth it!

8. My To Be Read (TBR) list is ever growing. I buy books even when I know it will be weeks before I can read them. My husband HATES this.

9. When I get approved for ARC's or get something from an author I literally jump around/pet them/scream. Yup and I am an adult.....embarrassing.

10. I will always love the bad boy. Regardless of how much of a butt he is. It doesn't matter. Bring on the leather and motorcycles!

11. I don't always hate love triangles and cliffhangers when it's done correctly but, seriously NOT EVERY BOOK NEEDS ONE! Ok, glad I got that out of my system.

12. Blogging and reading are my only hobbies. I have ditched friends to stay home and read a great book. Wow, that one is embarrassing to admit.

13. None of my co-workers know I am a book blogger. At least up until last week! Someone asked me if I was Brittany from Spare Time Book blog. I said yes but, I felt like Batman getting his mask ripped off! I got all shifty and was like "they know who I am..."

14. I love YA even though I am an adult. Like done with college adult. My friends tell me I am to old to read them. I tell them to go screw themselves, I love them :)

15. I like Romance! Just slap me in the face with it. Some people are all like "Romance is just trashy and gross." I'm like, "I'm sorry you feel that way. If you will excuse me I am going to go dive into a world with drop dead gorgeous men who have crazy romantic passionate love scenes with their lovers. Enjoy your boring vanilla day!"

That was fun! Stop by tomorrow for day 2!

  1. I am so with you on celebrating the ARCs!! I literally called my mom screaming one time - I think she thought something was seriously wrong with me. Hah!

And, yes, love triangle. Please no. And I don't know which is worse - one where there's a clear choice SO WHY IS THIS A TRIANGLE - or one where I want the character to love them both because I CANNOT CHOOOOOOSE!

  2. #7 <--- You are insane but giving you thumbs up! I totally would do something like that for a book! & #15 <-- Just slap the person who says that romance is stupid because they obviously don't know what they're missing!

    Great post hun!

  3. I love the last confession about romance! So very true! I am another person who doesn't mind a well-written love triangle or cliffhanger, but they do get a bit tedious after reading so many of them. Great list!

  4. I celebrate ARC's too! Totally a squee-worthy occaasion! I don't care what anyone says.

And as far as liking YA, I LOVE it and I hope that people will one day understand that there isn't an age restriction on YA. It's not like you won't understand it once you get past 20. Ugh that convo makes me tick every time!

Great list! And thanks for stopping by Take Me Away...

  5. I have a friend who has the contact paper that libraries use and she will cover her paperbacks before lending them out. I wish she gave out bookmarks too though, since she makes all her bookmarks and they are so pretty :D

    11. Huzzah!

  6. Oooh good idea about supplying bookmarks when you lend out books!

I cry a lot when I read too. Reading just creates an emotional connection for me!

How did they figure out the name of your blog at work?

Not a big fan of romance but your reason behind loving it had me LOLing!!!!

  7. #7 & #8 are so me. I always forget to eat when I'm reading something really good, and I keep buying books, even though I have no room for anymore. I swear my mom's going to kick me out soon. Lol!

And I love YA too, even though I've been out of college for six years. When it comes to books, I think at some point age becomes irrelevant, and you can read whatever you enjoy.

  8. Great list! Don't be embarrassed about #12 - I'm guilty of it too, and I think most of us book bloggers are...

  9. Definitely with you on number 4. If a book has a pretty cover I will get the physical edition even if I can just instantly buy the ebook edition right now on my iPad. If a book I really want has an ugly cover I usually just grab the ebook versions.

  10. I love how you are so unabashed about what you like, that's so cool. Much like you, I love YA and I am a done-with-college adult. If people dislike that, they can screw off. Like, lol today at my work retreat I brought my book to read before it started -- Catching Jordan, I was very loud and proud about it.

Also, number 12 is kind of my life, just add in running and we'd have the EXACT same hobbies. <3

    Thanks for joining in!
