Valefar Vol. 2 (Demon Kissed) by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:
The dangerous and beautiful Collin Smith just made the biggest mistake of his life, and there is no way to fix it. In his quest to restore his soul, he destroyed the only person he truly cared about, Ivy Taylor. Collin tries to deny his love for her, but his desire to protect Ivy drives him to do things Valefar shouldn't do. If Collin exposes his weakness—his affection for Ivy—he endangers them both and risks the wrath of Kreturus.

If you haven't read the series this review may contain spoilers!

My Review:
I love the fact that we get to see things from Collin’s point of view. It’s nice to know what’s going on inside his head vs. Ivy’s head. Valefar #2 kind of made me realize how deep Collin’s feelings for Ivy really were. During the books I felt like Collin was being mean to Ivy but, from his point of view it makes more sense! It’s like someone flicked on the light bulb! It’s the same for when Kreturus summoned him. That was crazy and I never knew how hard something like that would have been for Collin. I was always on Collin’s side and it is really nice to get to see things from his perspective. I will be getting volume 3! I also love these covers! Just throwing that out there as well!

Delirium (Delirium #1) by Lauren Oliver

Goodreads Summary:
Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.

Untouched (Denazen #1.5) by Jus Accardo

Goodreads Summary:
Until he met Dez, Kale’s days were filled with violence and death. He was used as a weapon of destruction by the power hungry men of Denazen. He’s a Six. A person with an abnormal ability. Some people call them gifts, but not Kale. Kale’s touch means instant death.

But now there’s Dez, the girl he can touch, and they’re hunting down Sixes and warning them about Denazen. Kale is learning about the world outside captivity and trying to put his dark past behind him. But they underestimated how badly Denazen wanted him back.

When Dez sacrifices herself to save the new Six they’d rescued from falling into the corp’s hands, Kale is lost. Denazen has brought out its best to get the job done. Samsen, a nightmare from Kale’s past—the only person he’s ever truly feared—has come for them, and it soon becomes obvious he has his own twisted agenda.

Kale will need all his training to get Dez back and ensure they make it out, free—and alive. But will it be enough?

My Review:
Dez and Kale are out looking for Sixes to warn them about  Denazen. It seems to go ok until they meet one Six. This novella is definitely not all unicorns and rainbows. There is some crazy stuff that takes place. It tests Kale to the fullest extent you could imagine. I felt so bad for him at one part specifically but, I won’t say what it is. Sorry, I want to try to be spoiler free!

Samsen is a truly terrible person. You will see why. I understand why Kale feared him so much. I felt bad that he had to go through that as a child with no way of stopping it. I feel like Kale is a good person despite what he thinks about himself.

The relationship between Kale and Dez is soooo cute! They are an awesome couple. I like that there was no crazy love triangles and that they just love each other. It’s nice and refreshing. I have no idea what book 2 Toxic will hold for them but, I hope they stay strong together.

I thought this book would tide me over until Toxic’s release in September. However, it did the opposite…I want Toxic NOW! Haha. It renewed my love for the series and I can’t wait to get my hands on Toxic!

Pure (Covenant #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Goodreads Summary:
There is need. And then there is Fate...

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

If you haven't read any of these books or have not read Pure yet, my review may contain spoliers!! FYI!

My Review:
Wow. All I can say is WOW!!!! This book was absolutely amazing. Jennifer Armentrout succeeded in blowing me away yet again. This book was a great follow up to Half Blood. I really like Alex. She is an amazing female character. She grew even more in this book and had to deal with some tough stuff. She sticks up for herself and the half-bloods when it could get her in serious trouble. I was found myself laughing at times and crying at other times throughout Alex's roller coaster of a life. The Furies were also a very interesting twist! I won't say why, happy reading :)

I have something else to confess…..I am now team Seth. Yes, I know, crazy right? There are a lot of reasons that Aiden and Alex can’t be together. A lot of them have to do with society and the breed laws. I hope that those get changed. I felt so bad for all the half-bloods throughout Pure. They do not get treated well. And I loathe the Minister!!!! Ugh, such a dud. Enough said about the Minister. Back to Seth, I felt that he was really there for Alex, like he actually cared. I have grown fond of Seth .There "connection" proves to be very interesting.

I have a feeling there is more going on under the surface of Seth and I think huge changes are coming. I am also very curious to see what happens when Alex turns 18. Deity should be interesting!! I can’t wait for it! Especially since there is part of chapter 1 of Deity at the end of Pure!! Great job Jennifer Armentrout! Keep them coming!

Stone Prison (Twisted Tales #1) by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:
This dark tale is like the fables of old, with a twist...

While other seventeen-year-old girls are dreaming of marrying the prince, Ella is hoping that she doesn't get caught. Ella is a thief, forced to live that way by the witch who slaughtered her father fifteen years ago. Since that gruesome night, Ella has been locked in a stone prison—kidnapped—with no chance of freedom. No one can escape from the witch. Ever. But this year, everything changes.

My Review:
I am a huge fan of fairy tales! This was a fairytale like no other I have ever read. The summary says it best. It is an old tale with a heck of a twist! 10,000 words and I couldn’t put it down. I don’t want to give too much away and it was such a short tale which makes it hard. She fit a very entertaining story into a short novella. I was like, oh Ella such a nice girl. Then I was like oh love it’s so cute! Then I was like holy crap O_o! Sorry that is the best way to summarize my feelings. That’s a lot of feelings for 10,000 words. I should not be surprised that I enjoyed this short story so much. Demon Kissed is one of my favorite series. I can’t wait to see what happens in later installments of the Twisted Tales books.

THIS IS NOT A YA BOOK. JUST AN FYI THIS IS INTENDED FOR MATURE READERS.

Goodreads Summary:

For all the trappings of success – his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving adoptive family – Grey is man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a passionate, physical and daring affair, Ana learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey hidden away from public scrutiny.
