Wishlist Wednesday #6

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly post put on by Dani at the Pen to Paper Blog. Where you post a book you really really want to read or one that has been on your wishlist! If you've seen my to-read list on Goodreads then you know there are plenty that I could use. So I decided to use this feature every Wednesday.

Title: Bane (Vampire Apocalypse #1)
Author: H.M. Ward
Release Date: June 15, 2012
Series Number: 1

Goodreads Summary:

The world as we know it is gone. The ice caps have melted and shifted south, devastating the northern territories and eradicating major cities such as New York and London, which are now under water and frozen.

Humans died off during an epidemic prior to the ice disaster, and many more died during the floods at the start of this new ice age. These events have forced vampires out of hiding. In order to ensure that their food source wouldn't completely die off, the vampires have sequestered the remaining humans into farms and taken control of all that remains of civilization. Over time, the humans breeding on these farms became anemic. Their blood no longer sustains the master race.

But not all of the humans were captured and sent to the farms. Some of the humans evaded the hunters, hiding in safe houses across the frozen tundra. As decades passed, the free humans disappeared, died, or were captured, until all that remains is one.

Kahli is the last wild human. BANE is her story.

My Thoughts:
I don't know if you know this. I LOVE VAMPIRE BOOKS. It doesn't matter what kind or what genre really. Also I'm a nurse so anything that has to do with epidemic's I will read. And when you put them all together into a vampire apocalypse well....that's like the perfect storm. I am a huge fan of H.M. Ward so I pretty much will read everything she writes! I loved the Demon Kissed series, Scandalous, and Assassin (Demon Kissed 6). I will be getting this book when it's released and am counting down the days!

Assassin: Fall of the Golden Valefar by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:

There is neither pure goodness nor pure evil in your heart—you are what you choose to be.

Those are the words Ivy spoke to him three years ago when she sent Eric to the surface. But she had no way to know that every day the curse would twist his mind further, making Eric more depraved and more desperate to stop the monster he is becoming. Eric puts a lethal plan into action. Once started, it cannot be stopped. The plan will result in his ultimately finding peace—and destruction.
However, Natalia has other plans. She's spent three years getting close to Eric and doesn't plan on letting him slip between her fingers. But when she finds the opportunity to destroy him, she hesitates--seeing the spark of goodness he still possesses.

My Review:
From what the author put on Facebook I knew this book would be more adult then the first 5 Demon Kissed books. All I have to say about that is....YES! AWESOME! I knew there was a lot about Eric that we didn't know. This book gave me way more incite into why he is how he is and how he deals with it. I loved that. He always made me curious in the other books. I'm glad we finally got to know more about him. We also got to see some of Ivy and Collin which was nice. I really enjoyed their story and was glad to see them make an appearance.

I think his relationship with Natalia was perfect for him. She wasn't afraid of him and talked back! She didn't take any crap from him. It's about time someone did that. She was kind of ice to his fire in a way. She distracted him at times from his pain. She has a secret though...and I have to say that it wasn't what I thought it was.

I think this is the first book to a great installment to this series. The ending left me craving more of the story and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Original Sin (Personal Demons #2) by Lisa Desrochers

Goodreads Summary:

Luc Cain was born and raised in Hell, but he isn’t feeling as demonic as usual lately—thanks to Frannie Cavanaugh and the unique power she never realized she had. But you can’t desert Hell without consequences, and suddenly Frannie and Luc find themselves targeted by the same demons who used to be Luc’s allies.

Left with few options, Frannie and Luc accept the protection of Heaven and one of its most powerful angels, Gabe. Unfortunately, Luc isn’t the only one affected by Frannie, and it isn’t long before Gabe realizes that being around her is too…tempting. Rather than risk losing his wings, he leaves Frannie and Luc under the protection of her recently-acquired guardian angel.

Which would be fine, but Gabe is barely out the door before an assortment of demons appears—and they’re not leaving without dragging Luc back to Hell with them. Hell won’t give up and Heaven won’t give in. Frannie’s guardian exercises all the power he has to keep them away, but the demons are willing to hurt anyone close to Frannie in order to get what they want. It will take everything she has and then some to stay out of Hell’s grasp.

And not everyone will get out of it alive.

If you haven't read the series yet this review may contain spoilers for you. FYI.

My Review:
This book had a different feel then the first one. I felt great that she was with Luc. I totally love him! Gabe isn't around as much in this book either. Which I am also ok with. I liked Gabe just fine. I just didn't like how whenever things got hard with her and Luc she would run to Gabe and make out with him. The new guardian angel was a very interesting twist. I'm up in the air about this particular person, we will have to see what happens in Last Rite and based on what when down at the end of Original Sin in should be great! This book is also way more steamy in the romance department then the first one. I think that's why I liked it more because it wasn't the typical safe romance in a lot of books.

Like I said early. I am totally in Luc cheering section. I want him to be happy and with Frannie. I'm not sure what will happen with them at this point but, I have high hopes for Last Rite. I think they would be very good for each other. If her Sway was powerful enough to turn him human then I'd say the love their is strong.  Fingers crossed!

I will be reading Last Rite as soon as I can get my hands on it :) This has turned out to be on of my favorite series this year!

Wishlist Wednesday #5

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly post put on by Dani at the Pen to Paper Blog. Where you post a book you really really want to read or one that has been on your wishlist!  Title: Rapture
Author: Lauren Kate
Release Date: June 12, 2012
Series Number: 4

Goodreads Summary:
The sky is dark with wings . . . .

Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.

Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen.

For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters.

In the fight for Luce, who will win?

The astonishing conclusion to the FALLEN series. Heaven can’t wait any longer.

My Thoughts:
Fallen was the first book I ever read on my Kindle. I have a soft spot for this series and I'm sad that this is the final book in the series. Although I am excited to see how it ends. And I swear if Luce doesn't end up with Daniel I will throw a fit! I have wanted to see them together since book 1. I can't wait until June 12th!

Personal Demons (Personal Demons #1) by Lisa Desrochers

Goodreads Summary:

Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She has spent years keeping everyone at a distance---even her closest friends---and it seems as if her senior year is going to be more of the same . . . until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can’t seem to stay away from him.

What she doesn’t know is that Luc is on a mission. He’s been sent from Hell itself to claim Frannie’s soul. It should be easy---all he has to do is get her to sin, and Luc is as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance. But he has to work fast, because if the infernals are after her, the celestials can’t be far behind. And sure enough, it’s not long before the angel Gabriel shows up, willing to do anything to keep Luc from getting what he came for. It isn’t long before they find themselves fighting for more than just Frannie’s soul.

But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay . . . for all of them.

My Review:
I would first off like to say that I LOVED this book! I read it a while back before I had a blog. I then won a giveaway on Lisa Desrocher's blog of a signed copy of Original Sin and decided to refresh my memory by re-reading this Personal Demons. And I would have to say that I loved it even more. I picked up on stuff I missed the first time because I read it so fast. Frannie is way more of a kick butt female character then I thought. She is so set in her ways and that is awesome! I felt kind of bad for her when she was drawn to both men in her life. I kind of felt like they may have been using their powers to get her close to them in order to tag her. More so with Gabe. So yea, I am rooting for Luc all the way! There is something about a bad boy that is just....hot! And he plays that role very well.

Frannie's abilities kind of caught me off guard. When I first understood what her abilities were I was like hmm...ok, how is it so special. But, as the story continues and you see the extent of how her abilities affect Luc and everyone around her (even the higher ups) I was like... that's huge!! I now see why both teams are so antsy to tag her!

I can't wait to see where this goes. A lot of stuff took place and some crazy stuff happened at the end and I can't wait to read Original Sin!! I hope that Frannie and Luc stay together personally and I hope the cover isn't insinuating that her and Gabe get together. I will loose it!

Endure (Need #4) by Carrie Jones

Goodreads Summary:
It’s all-out war (and no-holds-barred romance) in the climactic conclusion to Carrie Jones’s bestselling series.

Zara is at the center of an impending apocalypse. True, she’s successfully rescued Nick from Valhalla, but it simply isn’t enough. Evil pixies are ravaging Bedford, and they need much more than one great warrior; they need an army. Zara isn’t sure what her role is anymore. She’s not just fighting for her friends; she’s also a pixie queen. And to align her team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest battles yet. Especially since she can’t even reconcile her growing feelings for her pixie king . . .

Unexpected turns, surprising revelations, and one utterly satisfying romantic finale make Endure a thrilling end to this series of bestsellers.

If you haven't read this series yet this review will probably have spoilers for you!

My Review:
I was sad to know that this was the last book in the series. However, I completely loved it! The story was an amazing conclusion to the Need series. The book starts with Zara and life post Valhalla and the Nick rescue. She is kind of heart broken throughout this book because Nick no longer feels the same about her because she is a Pixie. She is also conflicted because she is starting to realize her feelings for Astley. They are still at war with Frank's pixies, who are nasty by the way, and are trying to prevent the Apocalypse.

Zara and Astley are just cute together. I used to be a big Nick fan but, the last couple books I have switched teams and joined team Astley. He is such a caring loving person/pixie. I have no doubt he would be a great King. The poor guy still can't land but, I loved that about him! I was shocked during a couple altercations during this book. Particularly towards the end. I was like O_o. I was reading during my class because I had to know what was going to happen. My other favorite characters did their parts as well. Issie, Devyn, and Cassidy were all there. I really enjoyed these characters. They seemed to play a bigger role in this book. They were a very good support system for each other.

The war is coming in this book and not everyone will survive. If you haven't read these books yet you really should. The portrayal of pixies is awesome and by far my favorite. The ending was a perfect fit for the story.

Title: Sacrifice (The Descendants #2)
By: Mayandree Michel

Goodreads Summary:
War has never been won and Love has never been saved without... Sacrifice.

While Cordelia awaits her anointment from Zeus, she finds solace in her growing relationship with Evan and believes that everything is falling into place, until the Apolluon increase their attacks on the Ischero and the mortals of Nickel City, and the elders object to the mission of searching for her parents, causing division in the empire.
Just when Cordelia believes things can’t get any worse, Victor vanishes, bringing about a new threat to end her union with Evan for good, and the mortals begin to suspect that the Ischero are nothing like them at all. Due to the growing persecution from the residents of the town, Cordelia decides that relocating is the answer.
In the new city, just as the members of the empire begin to find peace, familiar faces begin to emerge and true identities are revealed. In order to guarantee her empire's safety, Cordelia must decide between saving herself and making the ultimate sacrifice without any help from the gods.

My Thoughts:
Betrayal was the first book in this series and I loved it! Full of love, scandal, and awesome goddess power. I have been patiently waiting for this one for some time now and can't wait for it to come out!

Drip Drop Teardrop (Drip Drop Teardrop #1) by Samantha Young

Goodreads Summary:

Avery hasn’t had it easy.

When she was ten years old her parents died in a car crash. Now nine years later her Aunt Caroline is the only family member she has left. And Caroline is dying.

So when Death comes knocking (quite literally) in the form of the damaged and dangerous, Brennus, Avery makes a deal with the reaper in order to save Caroline.

Brennus is an Ankou.

One of the many, once mortal men and women, who were given the choice to become an immortal in exchange for ferrying the dead over into their afterlife.

Nine years ago Brennus took Avery’s parents and tried to take Avery, but she fought him and won. Amazed by her strength Brennus followed Avery and has watched over her.

Now he knows Avery is the one to offer him freedom from his obligation to the dead.

And he’ll stop at nothing to have her.

My Review:
This book tells quite a story in such a short amount of time. I give Avery a lot of credit doing what she is doing. Working full time to help support her aunt with cancer. She still makes time to go out with her friends even if she doesn't always enjoy it. I read some reviews that said Avery had issues and wasn't likable. I disagree. She has had a tough life and if she is crabby sometimes well so be it! We all are. She had a lot of pressure to deal with at such a young age. She manages to cram quite the story into a novella. There was kind of  a lot going on!

The relationship between Avery and Brennus took a while to get going but, once it did. There is something to be said about natural attraction and bond between people. The only bad thing about this novella is that it was short!! I want more!!

Fragile by M. Leighton

Goodreads Summary:

Her heart, as delicate as glass. His love, as strong as steel. Can either survive life and death?

Hardy Bradford is an eighteen year old football phenomenon who has the girl, the school, the town and the future in the palm of his hand. His life is all mapped out for him, right down to who he’ll marry and how he’ll become a professional football player. It doesn't seem to matter that Hardy would’ve chosen a much different life if it was up to him. But it's not. At least not until his Miracle comes along.

The first time Hardy laid eyes on Miracle St. James, he didn’t know who she was, but he knew she was something different and that he’d never get her out of his head. And he didn’t. Now, months later, Hardy’s world is turned upside down when Miracle shows up in his class, stealing his heart and forever changing the course of his life.

Miracle’s sick. Very sick. And Hardy might be losing the only thing in his life that has ever mattered. How much is too much to sacrifice for the one you love? For just a little more time? For just one more chance? Can Hardy be the hero Miracle needs? Or is it Hardy that needs saving?

My Review:
The song that came on Pandora while I am typing this is so perfect, Kiss the Rain by Yiruma on piano. It is perfect for this book haha. Just a coincidence I suppose but, worth noting. This book was probably one of the sweetest love stories I have ever read. It was from Hardy's point of view which was refreshing. I don't read very many books that are so sweet and romantic that are in a guys point of view. There were a few pages that were from Miracle's point of view as well. I read this book in about 6 hours, in mostly one sitting. I couldn't put it down. Hardy's life sounds like the typical football players. Dating the hot cheerleader with the seemingly "perfect family." He is troubled though and not as happy as he could be. That's when he meets Miracle.

Their relationship is hard to explain. You must read this book to get the full extent of it. I can only describe it in words. It is sweet, beautiful, and full of love. The kind of love and sacrifice that we wish for every day. The kind of relationship that can change the course of your life completely, change your hopes and dreams. That is the best way to describe it I think without bursting into song. Could you risk everything for the one you love?

The ending is perfect. I couldn't have seen it going any differently at all. Hardy is the kind of man all women hope to find and the kind of son we want our sons to be. Pick up this book people. It left me in tears.

Scandalous by Ella Steele (H.M. Ward)

Goodreads Summary:

Millionaire Jack Gray earned his fortune creating erotic art for a discerning clientele. He doesn’t use a brush to depict these hauntingly beautiful portraits—he uses bare skin. A sterling reputation is the only thing standing between Jack and poverty as he skirts the thin line between fine art and cheap sensationalism. To ensure that his character remains beyond reproach, an assistant observes his sessions.

While interviewing for a new assistant, Jack hears her voice—Abby Tyndale—the girl who got away. The last time Jack saw her was over a decade ago. After years of romantic tension she had nearly kissed him, but then disappeared without a trace. He hasn’t seen her since. Until now. When he learns that his lost love joined the clergy after she fled to West Texas, his heart sinks. She’s forbidden, forever set apart by her vows.

Jack’s life quickly spins out of control as Abby grows closer to him, and worsens when his client list is stolen. The financial blow alone is damning, but it’s the scandal brewing beneath the surface that he fears the most. Jack and Abby’s livelihoods rely on their reputations. A single scandal will destroy them both. While fearing a contrived scandal, they have courted a very real one as their romance reignites.

This erotic romance is an addictive tease that will leave you breathless and begging for more.

This is not a YA book and is intended for ADULT readers.

My Review:
I love the cover! This was a very fast read. I read it very quickly. I was always wondering what was going to happen next. I figured something had to happen it was just to perfect. I like perfect :) But, there was definitely more then one scandal in this story. Abby was dealt a huge blow in her career that took her back to where her life started basically. What she did was viewed as bad however in my eyes it was the right thing to do. The whole church thing makes it a little controversial though.

The relationship between Jack and Abby felt a little rushed but, their history makes it make more sense. They have quite the history between them. I loved the painting in the book. I could picture them in my mind when reading. Especially when he gave her the tour. The cover of the book is pretty much how I pictured the painting would look. Just saying.

The Scandal (if you will) was crazy! I felt so bad for Abby. Something like that could absolutely destroy anyone. The ending was perfect for their story :)

Wishlist Wednesday #3

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly post put on by Dani at the Pen to Paper Blog Where you post a book you really really want to read or one that has been on your wishlist! Title: The Golden Lily
By: Richelle Mead
Release Date: June 12, 2012
Series Number: Book 2

Goodreads Summary:
Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students--children of the wealthy and powerful--carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie, and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Richelle Mead's breathtaking Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive. In this second book, the drama is hotter, the romances are steamier, and the stakes are even higher.

My Thoughts:
I really enjoyed Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series. When I heard there was going to be a spin off featuring Sydney the alchemist. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Bloodlines (Book 1) and I can't wait to see what The Golden Lily has in store for us. I was Team Dimitri during Vampire Academy but, I am totally Team Adrian for Bloodlines! He is steamy in this one. It's #2 on my Wishlist!

Here are a couple of book trailers out there from Quotes released about the book!

If you would like to see a list of her books that I have read and review links just go to the Book Reviews tab and scroll down to her name. It is in alphabetical order then arranged by series. Author Bio (From Amazon)
I was born and raised in the United States, and I've lived in several of the fabulous fifty. Though I currently live in the deep South, I spent much of my childhood up North and hope to return there one day. A few other things about me: I believe that sometimes you have to look really, REALLY hard to find the good in people, but it's there. I believe that I'm shrinking (I swear five years ago I was two inches taller). I believe my husband is quite possibly one of the most amazing men in the entire world (I can't be sure because I haven't met all of them). I believe coffee and chocolate, when combined, could be the basis for world peace. I believe that Jesus rocks and communism doesn't. I believe that white makes me look fat and black collects lint. I believe summer's too hot, winter's too cold and fall was made for football. I like dogs better than cats and the first movie in a trilogy is invariably the best. But most of all, I believe that love conquers all.

Caterpillar (Nine Lives #1) by M. Leighton

Goodreads Summary:

Atlanta Realtor Cat Deen’s average life gets axed when she discovers that demons are real— and they know her name. Though some take human form, they can’t hide their wicked souls (or the nasty things they do) from Cat. One can even turn her insides to mush… but in a good way.

Blue-eyed Detective S. Tegan makes Cat’s pulse race. But she can see in his mind that he’s hiding something—and fangs are just the tip of the iceberg. With bodies piling up all around her, Cat needs his help to break her family’s curse. Only she can’t afford to trust just anyone, especially when she doesn’t even know his first name.

My Review:
Cat is a young Realtor who has a knack for finding dead bodies in the homes she is showing. You can imagine how this makes her look in the eyes of the detectives. Despite the fact that she is faced with multiple death scenes she still pushes on and is trying to deal with life and her powers that are growing.

Of course in true M. Leighton fashion there is a super cute dark man that enters Cat's life. She learns pretty quickly that he has secrets of his own. And when I found out what it was I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. I was like o_O Their relationship develops in a non-rushed way and gets steamier from there! After the chaos that happened towards the end I can't wait to see what happens in the next one!

Wiccan (Wiccan #1) by M. Leighton

Goodreads Summary:

Where does evil live? In the heart? Or in the blood?

Nearly-nineteen year old Mercy Holloway has a gift. Long ago murders play out right before her eyes when she passes over a place of death, but Mercy never thought that her unusual ability would interfere with her having a normal college experience. Until today.

On her way to school, Mercy witnesses another murder—only this one’s different. And Mercy’s the only one who can do anything about it. Out of time and out of options, Mercy takes what little information she has to the police where she meets Detective Caleb Grayson. Grayson doesn’t necessarily believe Mercy, he’s just better at hiding his feelings than most. It’s not long, however, before Grayson has no choice but to believe her.

As the two embark on a mission to solve a murder, Mercy starts having more visions. Only these contain messages. And they’re meant for her. This powerful, evil killer knows things about Mercy that she didn’t even know herself, things she never wanted to find out.

Body by body, Mercy discovers that her gift is not a gift at all, but a curse. And it’s one she can’t escape. It runs in her veins. Can Mercy and Grayson catch a killer and capture love? Or are they destined to fail... at both?

My Review:
A supernatural murder mystery! Yes please! I love it when the paranormal mixes with real life events. I mean I hope murder isn't something you see in your everyday life. Anyway, seeing visions like Mercy see's would not be so fun. Bloody gruesome scenes. Yikes. They are kind of an unwelcome event in her life. I was surprised that she went to the police. I didn't think it would go in that direction. However, her visions soon proved that she was not your standard "psychic" who was looking for fame.

The young accomplished Caleb Grayson was a fun character. At first I didn't think he was going to take Mercy seriously at all. But, after her visions started proving to be true he changed his tune quickly. Mercy had a hard time dealing with the reality of the visions and Caleb was there to help her. It was nice to see their relationship grow and develop.

And yes there is a cliffhanger at the end! Oh, I will have to wait to see what happens in the next installment. It should be interesting with everything that happened!

My Review:
A lot of craziness took place at the end of the last book. Carson has  a few new problems at hand now. She is now a reaper for Heaven! Who know that would happen? Also her tattoo is fading every time she sees her sister in the mirror. Her appearance also starts to change. Derek seems to think it's not a big deal right away. But, he is acting weird towards her lately and she starts to doubt his feelings for her. I have to admit that I did too.

I felt kind of bad for Carson throughout this book. I felt like she was more alone and was having trouble dealing with all the problems that were going on. I don't blame her either. I wanted to jump through the pages and say "it's ok you can talk to me!"

Carson is forced to realize something is wrong and decisions must be made. Will she lose the one she loves? Will her sister steal all her power and make her vulnerable to attack? You will have to see!

The Reaping (The Fahllen #1) by M. Leighton

Goodreads Summary:
Every hell has its devil. And Carson is about to become intimately acquainted with hers.

Seventeen-year-old wallflower Carson Porter has always dreamed of being something special, but what she gets isn’t what she signed up for.

Yeah, a girl’s supposed to change as she gets older, but this is ridiculous! Shiny skin, greener eyes and a run-in with the flesh-eating dead are just a few of the changes Carson has to adjust to, not to mention the arrival of very hot and very dangerous Derek Hrolf. If all that wasn’t enough to turn her once hum-drum life into something unrecognizable, a twin sister that haunts her from the shadows and a wheeling, dealing collector of souls will definitely do the trick. The question is: what will her life become? And what will she become?

My Review:
The cover is what originally drew me in to this book. It looked so dark! I have never read a book about a reaper. So, this book offered a very interesting concept that had me very interested. Carson was a very interesting character who had quite the life already. She was another strong independent female character. This seems to be a trend in M. Leighton's books. And I am completely ok with that! Bring it on!

I really liked Savannah. She was a good friend to Carson. It sucks what craziness happens with them later in the book though! I think it was a good idea for Carson to go look for certain family members. There are some questions that seriously need answers. And what would a book be without a super hunky dude!

Enter Derek. This guy has information that is very helpful for Carson. It seems like he has been through a lot and him and Carson just fit together. They have both been through bad situations and have had to make some hard decisions. I enjoyed their relationship and I will be reading the second book!

To Kill an Angel (Blood Like Poison #3) by M. Leighton

Goodreads Summary:

Ridley Heller thought her life would be perfect and trouble-free once she had Bo back. Unfortunately, she couldn’t have been more wrong. Learning Bo’s true identity has left them with their most difficult decision yet. They have two options. One, they can run away together and spend eternity looking over their shoulder, hiding from both God and Sebastian. Or, two, they can find a way to kill Sebastian. Ridley feels like there’s really only one choice, but killing Sebastian has a major down side for her—it will leave Bo mortal and her a vampire. She’ll be doomed to walk the earth alone for all eternity.

My Review:
This was my favorite book in the series. The way Bo and Ridley's love grew was beautiful. The way they cared about each other was portrayed so well in the writing. This was a crazy combination of paranormal creatures. From vampires to angels, demons etc. I couldn't have guessed the ending even if I tried! We are also introduced to yet more new characters. Including one in particular that I really liked...Cade!

There was death in this book. Fyi. I can't say that I felt bad about some of them however. I felt bad about one in particular but, I won't say which one it was. One thing that I particularly liked was the way the words would appear on Ridley. Awesome concept!!!

The ending was perfect for the series and I am sad to see the series end. I look forward to reading more of M. Leighton's books!

Destined for a Vampire (Blood Like Poison #2) by M. Leighton

Goodreads Summary:
Ridley Heller thought that all her problems would be over if she could have Bo back—back from the dead. But what Ridley didn’t know was that her wish would come at a price.

Bo survived a condition that would have killed a lesser vampire, or any vampire for that matter. The only reason he didn’t die is because of who he is, someone Ridley doesn’t know at all. Someone Bo himself doesn’t know at all.

As Ridley gets closer to finding out Bo’s true identity, she discovers that loving him could also come at a price, a price much higher than she ever could have imagined. The question is: is there any such thing as a price too high to pay for Bo? For his love, for his safety, for eternity in his arms?

My review:
This review may be more spoilery because I don't know how to make it work without some little ones. In Destined for a Vampire, I was on the edge of my seat constantly wondering what was going on or what could this possibly lead to!?! I was not able to figure out what was going to happen next which was really refreshing.  The quality of vampire traits are very interesting. I particularly liked the idea that they turn completely invisible without blood! So cool!

Ridley thought more about her sister I felt like in this book. I felt bad that her parents were so screwed up over her sisters death that they kind of forgot they had another daughter who was alive and right in front of them. Savannah is super fun in this book too! Some interesting things happen with some of the other group members that I never saw coming!

Bo and Ridley are just as cute as they were before. They are willing to give their lives for each other and that makes for a great book! Glad there is no love triangles too! I was way off about Sebastian and Lilly haha. Clearly my radar for detecting who people are is way off. This book ended with a lot of open ended questions. Hopefully book 3 will answer them!
