One night in college can change everything…

Away at college, Amy just wants one night alone without her high school sweetheart, Joe. So when he invites her to go to the library, she heads off on her own instead. How she ended up at a house party with the mysterious bad-boy Trevor is another story…

Joe so isn’t going to the library. He needs space from Amy, too, so he’s decided to rush a fraternity, to get back the swagger he had in high school. But it doesn’t take long for the brothers to invite him to the real rush here the beer is flowing and one particular girl has set her eyes on Joe.

Over the course of one wild night, both Amy and Joe will have to decide if their futures belong with two new people, or whether the next forever will have their first loves in it.

Goodreads  Summary:
Melina Parker has always excelled in two things: research followed by hands-on application. She prides herself on being a lady in public, but after she's dumped yet again for being a lady in the bedroom, she's ready to go back to school.

Determined to find her inner sex diva, she enlists her childhood friend, Max Dalton, to tutor her after hours. Instead, she ends up in the wrong bed and gets a lesson in passion from Max's twin brother, Rhys Dalton, a man Melina's always secretly wanted but never thought she could have.

Despite craving the occasional adventure, Melina's a small-town girl who wants roots and a family. Rhys and Max, on the other hand, are celebrities who travel from one city to another, changing bed partners as easily as plane flights. Rhys is outwardly the more reserved of the two but, unable to believe his good luck when he finds Melina waiting for him, he gives Melina her first taste of multiples right out the gate. Come morning, she's so mortified that she threw herself at Rhys that she blurts out the truth about her tutoring experiment. Not about to let her get away from him, Rhys convinces Melina that when it comes to sexual lessons, he's more than man enough for the job. His biggest challenge is teaching Melina that when it comes to pleasure, the key to his own is hers.

Can a woman who's always longed for hearth and home find satisfaction with a man whose entire life has been about moving on to the next big thing?

Goodreads Summary
High school is tough. Romance with a sexy alien—even tougher.

Star reporter Sloane Masterson knows she has one helluva story when she witnesses hottie Hayden Lancaster bending forks with his mind.

Like any good journalist, Sloane sets out to uncover the truth, even if it includes a little stalking. When the superhuman feats start to pile up and the undeniable heat rises between them, Hayden has no choice but to reveal his secret: he’s an alien hybrid.

They’re as different as night and day—she’s a curvy, purple-haired, horror junkie and he’s a smoking hot, antisocial, brainiac—yet the intense fascination between them refuses to go away. Even at Hayden’s insistence that dating each other is “off limits” and dangerous, their fiery attraction threatens to go supernova.

Now Sloane’s dealing with creepy government agents, über snobby extraterrestrials, and a psycho alien ex-girlfriend out for revenge. After a crash course on the rules of interstellar dating, Sloane must decide if their star-crossed romance is worth risking her own life....

My Review:
First off, I love alien books! So this one was perfect for me. Sloane is an average girl who goes to school, writes a column for the school paper, and has a crush on a guy. She has purple hair, loves horror movies, and is not a rail thing chick. She has rockin curves which sometimes makes her an easy target for bullies. She has been observing Hayden, crush guy, for a while for an article. When she starts to see weird things. Bending utinsels without using hands and moving from one place to another at crazy speeds. Something about Hayden is not normal. He's hiding something and Sloane is going to figure out what it is! Through the course of her investigation her feelings for Hayden grow and he realizes how amazing Sloane is. Will figuring out Hayden's secret be worth it or will it destroy them?

Hayden is an insanely smart guy who has huge dreams. Oh, and he's an alien so that complicates things. Being with Sloane is against the rules. It puts them both in danger. From both the government who is trying to keep the aliens a secret and from Tama. Tama is Hayden's crazy jealous ex-girlfriend. I guess that is one thing humans and aliens have in common. I mean, we can all guess who is scarier (crazy ex!). Sloane and Hayden are so good for each other. Despite all the people in their lives telling them otherwise. Things for them are not easy and keeping their relationship a secret is harder. Would you be able to do it? I know I wouldn't have with crazy teenage hormones! Things between them get seriously hot at times. Will their forbidden relationship last?

This books is a perfect combination of action, love, and danger. I read it in 2 days. I really enjoyed this book. Of course I love scifi and aliens. I loved how we got to read Sloane's articles during the book. I felt like we could have been friends. Being a female, I think we all know what it's like to be made fun of especially with it comes to your body. She dealt with it so well and she didn't change because of it which is awesome! I can't wait for book 2!

ARC Review of Secrets and Lies Vol. 1 by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:
They say the best way to get over a broken heart is a random hook-up. So my new BFF is dragging me to a bar. All I have to do is wear a slutty dress, choose a dude, and do the deed, right? The thing is, this isn't me. I'm the good girl -- the one who has sex for love. But, since the love of my life is shacked up with someone else, I guess it's time to move on.

One night, one time. That's all. I'll have a clean slate.

A guy with a sketch pad, sitting alone, catches my eye. I'm a sucker for the artistic type with dark hair and bright blue eyes. Soon we're in his hotel room doing things I've never done. His smoldering body, perfectly toned with hot skin and a firm touch, has my mind reeling with the things to come. We're both naked and glistening with sweat, breathless.

And then he darts, right before doing the deed, abandoning me in his room. He doesn't return.

A week later I see him again, and realize that he wasn't just a random guy. My heart clenches at the massive mistake, and I still don't grasp the extent of it. I should have run and never looked back.

My Review:
OMG! Who is this mystery Ferro!? Kerry is desperate to heal her broken heart. The guy she was supposed to be with forever has someone else and it is her first day at college. What is a girl to do? Well meet an awesome new friend and go to the bar dressed up super-hot to find a man! Seems like a good thing to do right? Let a hot ripped buy bang the heartache right out of you. Well things don't go exactly as Kerry planned. Mystery Man has other things on his mind and right before they do the deed he leaves! Kerry is faced with more rejection than she can handle at this point. How can a complete stranger not even want her when sex is guaranteed?? Is there something wrong with her?

I love this angle for a new Ferro volume. Kerry is vulnerable and has some really crappy luck. The only thing that is going for her so far is her new friend is awesome and her brothers are pretty helpful too. I just need to say this too. For her ex to dump her via test message is about as douchey as it gets! She is better off without him. I am curious to see where things are going to go with Mystery Guy. Who happens to be an artist. This should be fun! I have visions already of painty messes!

Genre: New Adult Romance
This story unfolds over multiple volumes approx. 125 pages each.

~The Arrangement Vol 1-15 are on sale now.~

My Review:
This volume took things to a whole new level. After Avery gave the ring back to Sean he is back to his good cold self. She gets glimpses of his softer side but, they are gone in a flash. Avery's life is still in danger after Amber's murder. So what is the best option? Send Avery with the super hot rockstar Trystan Scott! To hide her, he takes her to her to his childhood home. One that is full of bad memories for him. They are both nursing a broken heart and find comfort in each other. They are able to talk openly. Avery gets a hug! That is all she wanted from Sean. To have more of the softer side. What will happen with Trystan when inhibitions are lowered? Will Avery find the comfort she needs?

This one has some crazy twists in turns. We get to know Trystan in his dark moments but, also in the highest. On stage he is almost happy. It was very interesting to see Trystan. I am so excited for his book! I need to know what happened to that man because it must have been traumatic. It's crazy how these volumes get better and better. I am hooked!

It would have to be Jessica Shirvington's Embrace series. They go all over but, my favorite is London. I live in the U.S. it has always had a romantic feel. I would loooove to go there! They also go to New Orleans in the last book and that would be super fun. I don't get to travel much as it costs money I guess HA!

The Fault in Our Stars Movie Review

Book Summary via Goodreads:
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

Movie Review:
I have never done a movie review before. I feel the need to do one for this movie. I don't know why, I am just feeling compelled to do it. This book was amazing and I loved it. So full of a passionate love story with teenagers. A love that a lot of adults don't think is possible. Seeing it on the big screen just intensified the emotions. So basically I was a mess. I cried for literally the last 30 minutes of the movie. Next to The Hunger Games it was the best book to movie adaptation I have ever seen. The actors did such an amazing job portraying these characters. It was so true to the book. I saw it days ago and am still thinking about it. That has always been the way to tell if a movie was good. If you are still thinking about it for days later. I even saw a tear slip from my husbands eye! I know! It is my favorite movie of the year so far. I will be buying it. If you haven't seen it you really should. It was an amazing movie!

Your Perfect Life by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke

Goodreads Summary:
With “a delicious, page-turning premise, and sweet and surprising insights” (New York Times bestselling author Jen Lancaster), Your Perfect Life perfectly illustrates that old adage: Sometimes, you to have to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes to see what’s in her heart.

Best friends since childhood, Casey and Rachel couldn’t lead more different lives. While workaholic Casey rubs elbows with celebrities daily as the host of Gossip TV and comes home nightly to an empty apartment, stay-at-home mom Rachel juggles an “oops” baby, two fiery teenagers, and a husband who barely seems the man she fell in love with two decades before. After an argument at their twentieth high school reunion, Casey and Rachel throw back shots to get the night back on track. Instead, they get a life-changing hangover.

Waking up in each other’s bodies the next morning, they must figure out how to navigate their altered realities. Rachel is forced to confront the reason she gave up her broadcasting dreams when she got pregnant in college, and Casey finally steps out of the spotlight to face the truth about why she’s alone. And they soon discover that they don’t know themselves—or their best friend—nearly as well as they thought they did.

Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke bring humor and heart to every page of this novel that is sure to please fans of In Her Shoes and The Opposite of Me. Your Perfect Life is a story about two very different women, what they didn’t know about each other, and how, by switching lives, they each learn to appreciate their own.

My Review:
I really enjoyed this book! A modern day Freaky Friday but, with people everyone can relate to. Casey is a big shot for a celebrity TV Gossip show. She makes the big bucks and has all the right friends. Rachel is a stay at home mom with two teenage daughters and a baby. They are both a little unhappy with their lives but, don't talk to each other much anymore. Casey's job is very demanding. They both end up going to their class reunion where they end up having a fight. The bartender, Brian, gives them each a special shot and nothing will be the same after that. They wake up in each other's bodies. Casey with a crying baby and Rachel in a huge king bed naked! Will they figure out how to switch back? After they see what they've been missing will they want to?

Rachel is a stay at home Mom. She didn't finish college because she became pregnant with her daughter Audrey. It was a personal choice. She loves her family. Things with her husband have been pretty much nonexistent. No sex life, no dates, no nothing. She sees Casey as the one who got a successful job in the area she wanted and in my opinion is a little jealous. When she switches into Casey's body she realizes how good she is at being on TV and how much she likes having time for herself. She also realizes how much pressure is on Casey in her job and how hard it is for her in a time when being almost 40 isn't "cool".

Casey is a successful woman. She is single and ready to mingle, mostly with younger guys. She likes her job but, it's stressful and she pretty much lives for it. It is demanding and she doesn't get to spend as much time with Rachel as she used to. When she switches into Rachel's body it is a huge eye opener for her. How much Rachel actually does and how hard it is to be a Mom. She also sees that their marriage isn't as great as it appears. What the biggest game changer for her was realizing that she doesn't have kids or a husband. She is lacking these relationships and memories. She never really wanted it but, now...things are different.

I loved this book simply because it was easy to see real people in it. For Casey and Rachel they realized how imperfect each other’s lives were but, also that as best friends they didn't know each other like they should. The whole experience may have pulled them apart at times but, in the end brought them together. It was a fun and fast read! Great for a lazy summer day!

It has been two years since Violet Eden walked away from the city, her friends, her future and - most importantly - her soulmate, Lincoln. Part angel, part human, Violet is determined to stand by the promises she made to save the one she loves.

Living in the perpetual coldness of a broken soul she survives day to day as a Rogue Grigori in London.

But when an unexpected visitor shows up at her door, the news he bears about someone she swore to protect leaves Violet with no choice.

Even worse, she fears that this might all lead back to the night she tries hardest to forget. And what was taken without her permission.

Violet is going back to New York ... and she knows exactly who is going to be there.

With Phoenix in her dreams and Lincoln in her heart she knows it is only a matter of time before the final choice must be made.

My Review:
The end is here for the Violet Eden series. Empower was an intense books full of love, heartache, crying, smiling, and war. Life for Violet has not been great over the past couple years. She has put walls up around her broken sole so that she can survive the pain and is working with a group of Rogues. Rogues are Grigori who don't work with the Grigori government and take odd jobs. Eventually this war brings Violet back home, when Spence is taken. She knows now what she is meant to do. But, going home means seeing him again. After everything she has done to stay away, she must face him now. Seeing Lincoln again is like a punch in the chest but, they must work together to save the world. Darkness is coming. Will they be able to stop it?

Lincoln and Violet broke my heart in the beginning of the book. The way the hurt physically and emotionally was just heartbreaking. I have grown to really care for these characters. So it was so hard to read. Especially when they had to fight each other to decide who will be in charge of the team. When Violet was forced to lower her shields and collapsed screaming in pain she hurt so much...Her life is not complete but, will she realize this in time?

Don't worry there is some romance in this one! It is sweet and loving but, with a serious undertone. A war is coming and they must find a way to work together to defeat them. New Orleans has become a hot spot for thousands of exiles. It is one hell of a fight and not everyone survives. Can they survive this epic battle?

I loved this series and though I am sad it is ending I am glad I got the chance to read it. It was unique and fun. It has some of the best covers I have ever seen and they all sit very nicely on my book shelf. The ending was as good as it could have been. I liked it and cried haha! If you haven't read this one yet you need too!

Purchaed

Goodreads Summary:
He’s someone she can’t trust…

She’s someone he thinks he knows…

Violet Wilson is a wallflower. Shy, serious, and accident-prone, she’s got a bad habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The night she’s forced to pose with her friend might just be the worst time of all—that’s when she meets Jet Blevins. She knows better than to get involved with someone like him, but he touches her in ways she never expected, never wanted before.

On the outside, Jet is a typical rocker, an arrogant lead guitarist who unapologetically lives a wild lifestyle. But on the inside, he’s battling demons and using the stage to escape the troubles of his past and the addictions of his present. Until the night he sees Violet standing at the back of the room. She brings his life into focus. She knows his secrets. She’s the girl he can’t forget, and the one thing he craves more than his addiction.

But can they ever hope to have a future when their very foundation is nothing but lies?

Goodreads Summary:
After everything that has happened, Grace moves to the Everglades to live with her grandmother, Birdee, and hang out with old man Rex, Birdee's "friend with benefits". Grace quickly befriends Dylan, Rex's nephew, and Dylan's girlfriend, Sadie, who is a die-hard teen activist. Sadie spends her time leading protests against the roadside zoos that run rampant in Florida with a total disregard for animals or the flimsy law.

One day while out in the marshes of the Everglades, Grace and her friends rescue an abused—and endangered—Florida panther. She and Birdee spend time rehabilitating the animal. But when the panther runs off, Grace follows it to Uncle Bob's, a large roadside zoo they all have been protesting. One that is illegally filled with a variety of endangered and exotic animals. Before she can rescue the panther, she and her friends are kidnapped by the ruthless owner and dragged deep into the Everglades for a hunting challenge.

Only this time, Grace is the prey.

During a sick game of cat and mouse, Grace and her friends are offered one chance at survival, but only if they reach civilization before being caught. With a small head start and very little supplies, only time and skill stand between the hunter and the hunted. But out in the Everglades, there may be more dangers than Grace realizes.

Against all odds, Grace must make it out alive and win, or everything she holds dear could be lost.

Goodreads Summary:
After narrowly surviving two harrowing tragedies, Jules now fully understands the importance of the visions that she and people around her are experiencing. She’s convinced that if the visions passed from her to Sawyer after she saved him, then they must now have passed from Sawyer to one of the people he saved.

That means it’s up to Jules to figure out which of the school shooting survivors is now suffering from visions of another crisis. And once she realizes who it is, she has to convince that survivor that this isn't all crazy—that the images are of something real. Something imminent.

As the danger escalates more than ever before in the conclusion to the Visions series, Jules wonders if she'll finally find out why and how this is happening—before it's too late to prevent disaster.

Question of the week
What are your non-book guilty pleasures? Like TV shows, food, websites, hobbies, etc.

I really enjoy going to the theater. We go almost every week. I just love movies haha. I also get really obsessed with TV shows. I will DVR them or watch whole seasons on Hulu or Amazon. Specifically I like paranormal shows and the crime/CSI stuff. Right now I am binge watching Ghost Whisperer because I have never seen it. I am also obsessed with Trueblood. I am so sad to see it's the final season this year...
I also looove nail polish. I know, that's weird. I change the color up every week. I like to try new things like crackle and water marbling. Anything that's fun. I like the bright colors. I bet I have never went more then a few hours without nail polish on my fingernails...like since high school.

These are my nails right now. I love crackle with bright colors underneath.
