Empower by Jessica Shirvington

Goodreads Summary:
It has been two years since Violet Eden walked away from the city, her friends, her future and - most importantly - her soulmate, Lincoln. Part angel, part human, Violet is determined to stand by the promises she made to save the one she loves.

Living in the perpetual coldness of a broken soul she survives day to day as a Rogue Grigori in London.

But when an unexpected visitor shows up at her door, the news he bears about someone she swore to protect leaves Violet with no choice.

Even worse, she fears that this might all lead back to the night she tries hardest to forget. And what was taken without her permission.

Violet is going back to New York ... and she knows exactly who is going to be there.

With Phoenix in her dreams and Lincoln in her heart she knows it is only a matter of time before the final choice must be made.

My Review:
The end is here for the Violet Eden series. Empower was an intense books full of love, heartache, crying, smiling, and war. Life for Violet has not been great over the past couple years. She has put walls up around her broken sole so that she can survive the pain and is working with a group of Rogues. Rogues are Grigori who don't work with the Grigori government and take odd jobs. Eventually this war brings Violet back home, when Spence is taken. She knows now what she is meant to do. But, going home means seeing him again. After everything she has done to stay away, she must face him now. Seeing Lincoln again is like a punch in the chest but, they must work together to save the world. Darkness is coming. Will they be able to stop it?

Lincoln and Violet broke my heart in the beginning of the book. The way the hurt physically and emotionally was just heartbreaking. I have grown to really care for these characters. So it was so hard to read. Especially when they had to fight each other to decide who will be in charge of the team. When Violet was forced to lower her shields and collapsed screaming in pain she hurt so much...Her life is not complete but, will she realize this in time?

Don't worry there is some romance in this one! It is sweet and loving but, with a serious undertone. A war is coming and they must find a way to work together to defeat them. New Orleans has become a hot spot for thousands of exiles. It is one hell of a fight and not everyone survives. Can they survive this epic battle?

I loved this series and though I am sad it is ending I am glad I got the chance to read it. It was unique and fun. It has some of the best covers I have ever seen and they all sit very nicely on my book shelf. The ending was as good as it could have been. I liked it and cried haha! If you haven't read this one yet you need too!
