My Review:
I waited a long time to read this one. I am so sad to see this series ending. I have followed these characters since Mead's Vampire Academy series. That is a LONG time! I didn't want it to end but, I finally picked it up and finished it. I love the dynamic between Adrian and Sydney. It is not your typical love story. After defying everyone and getting married their marriage is immediately tested. The search for Jill is not going well. Until a clue is found, a clue meant for Sydney. Sydney and Adrian have to put their lives on hold in order to do what needs to be done to save Jill. It also had to be done in secret in order to keep the Alchemists from finding out they have left the safety of the Moroi. This quest is not an easy one. There are a lot of obstacles ahead. Will they be able to survive them all?
Adrian and Sydney are amazing together. They have the ability to be strong and put their needs on hold for their loved ones. They go up against some serious enemies. Their lives were at risk numerous times. I loved how we got both Adrian and Sydney's point of view during this book. I loved getting into Adrian's head. You could see how much they cared for each other and that nothing will come between them. Even when both of their families are against them they love each other and that's all that matters. Love can do many things and push you to accomplish extraordinary goals.
I really enjoyed the surprise in this one. I mean it was pretty crazy what happened with the ones cured of being Strigoi. It will blow your minds guys! I will also miss my secondary characters! Eddie, Jill, Neil, and even Adrian's mother. I will miss them all! all good things must come to an end. I hope in the future we get more from this world.
I didn't know that Richelle Mead had so many books around. I'm only two books into the VA series and it is nice to know that we as readers don't hear the end of the characters after the series.
