Goodreads Summary:
The Earth is dying. Darrow is a Red, a miner in the interior of Mars. His mission is to extract enough precious elements to one day tame the surface of the planet and allow humans to live on it. The Reds are humanity's last hope.

Or so it appears, until the day Darrow discovers it's all a lie. That Mars has been habitable - and inhabited - for generations, by a class of people calling themselves the Golds. A class of people who look down on Darrow and his fellows as slave labour, to be exploited and worked to death without a second thought.

Until the day that Darrow, with the help of a mysterious group of rebels, disguises himself as a Gold and infiltrates their command school, intent on taking down his oppressors from the inside. But the command school is a battlefield - and Darrow isn't the only student with an agenda.

Question of the Week
What books did you give other people this holiday season? - Suggested by Alison Can Read

As much as I would like to say I give people specific books but, I don't. I am a huge lover of gift cards because then they can get what they want! I have given out 4 so far!! I recommend books to people if they are interested but, sometimes what I read is a tad steamy for some haha. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday/Christmas/Hanukkah/whatever else you celebrate this time of year!! I hope you all get books and/or gift cards to book stores!

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly post put on by Dani at the Pen to Paper blog. Where you post a book you really really want to read or one that has been on your wishlist!

Title: Pocketful of Sand
Author: M. Leighton
Series Number: 1
Release Date: March 15, 2015

Goodreads Summary:
“She was beauty for my ashes and I was hope for her heartache.”—Cole Danzer.

I don’t know what makes a great love story. Is it that instant attraction when boy meets girl? The passionate kisses and the fairy-tale ending? Or is it a lifetime of tragedy, paid in advance, for a few stolen moments of pure bliss? The pain and the suffering that, in the end, you can say are worth it for having found the missing piece of your soul?

The answer is: I don’t know. I don’t know what makes a great love story. I only know what makes my love story. I only know that finding Cole when I did, when my world had dissolved into nothing, when I couldn’t separate nightmare from reality, was the only thing that saved me. He was more broken than I was, but somehow we took each other’s shattered pieces and made a whole. Without him, I wouldn’t have made it. If that is what makes a great love story, if that is what makes an epic romance, then mine…ours is the greatest of them all.

My Thoughts
I love this author's books!! Seriously all of them! I can not wait for this one!!!!

Life Before Damaged Vol. 2 by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:
Guilt ravages me, swallowing me whole. It steals my sleep and knots my stomach. I was the princess, the perfect Granz heiress, but no longer. That part of my life went up in flames, taking my future with it.

What remains is a shadow, a girl with no future and a terrible secret. There's only one soul who knows the extent of my sins, and I can't shake his beautiful face from my mind. The memories of being near him that night are charged. They linger, but going after Pete is like trying to catch smoke in my hand.

The pull toward this sexy man is unreal, and that's what I keep telling myself—the Pete Ferro I saw that night doesn't exist. There is no poet, no philosopher, no artist. He's a player and I’m his newest toy.

My Review:
Gina is struggling with what almost happened the night Peter rescued her from the fire. She feels like she has to tell her boyfriend what happened. Which she should I suppose. His reaction is completely different then I thought it would be. I feel like he doesn't even care about Gina. That he is just staying with her in order to keep her dad happy and keep his scholarship. Gina is pretty alone in all this and still living with her parents. She can't seem to get Peter out of her mind. In my opinion it is time to dump her boyfriend, get out of her parents house, and move on with her own life. Instead of doing what is expected of her and living for someone else! The whole situation with the fire has become way worse too. Will Gina be able to keep the secret from her dad that she threw the rave?

Peter showed his soft side when he walked away from Gina and she was ready to give it to him. It shows how he really is. I think their relationship would/will be explosive. Like it or not the Ferro's are a dangerous family and adding another heiress to the mix could lead to trouble. Gina's boyfriend needs to take a hike. I am convinced after this one that he does not love her and is simply there. I honestly think he's having a fling with someone at the hospital. There is no conformation of this but, I think its happening!

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. We know very little about Peter's past so answers will be great.

Tangled Trust by Nova Raines

Goodreads Summary:
Hayley Wade’s rock star dad just partied himself into an early grave and left Hayley with a pile of dangerous debt. She plans to pay it off, but her drug-addled father wrote an impossible task into his will: to inherit his wealth, Hayley must steal back a family heirloom he lost to a gold digger.

Kaidan Stone grew up surrounded by the world’s biggest stars, but never wanted to be in the limelight. When he makes The Lust List, he becomes America’s newest celebrity obsession overnight.

After Kaidan saves Hayley from a run-in with the aggressive paparazzi, sparks fly, and she discovers the heirloom is in his California mansion. It’s the answer to all her problems…but she’ll have to betray Kaidan to get it.

My Review:

Hayley is still trying to recover from seeing Kaidan with his ex Peyton and from having him call her Peyton in the throws of passion. She is having a hard time because she was developing feelings for him. Let's not forget about the awful magazine just slamming her and saying Kaidan and Peyton are meant to be and the comments from people are simply awful. She likes Kaidan but, isn't sure if she can trust him at all. She also has to think about her inheritance and what she has to do in order to get it. At this point I have no idea how she will pull it off. Will Hayley be able to ever trust Kaidan when he is constantly giving her a reason not to? Will they crash and burn before they even have a chance at love?

Kaidan and Hayley have a very hard time hanging out together. Whether it's Peyton being a crazy b-word, paps finding them and ruining it, or Kaidan not showing up. They have so many obstacles but, once they do have some time together they are sizzling. I mean the sexual tension is definitely there. I have high hopes for these guys because I really want them to work out!!

It will be interesting to see where this goes especially with the little cliffhanger at the end. I was more satisfied with Hayley's friends this time. I am curious to see how she is going to fulfill the requirements for the inheritance. Bring on book 3!!!

BLOG TOUR!! Inspire by Cora Carmack

Welcome to the Inspire by Cara Carmack blog tour!! I am so excited to be taking part in this tour! My review is posted below and don't forget to check out the giveaway!!

About INSPIRE:

Kalliope lives with one purpose.

To inspire.

As an immortal muse, she doesn’t have any other choice. It’s part of how she was made. Musicians, artists, actors—they use her to advance their art, and she uses them to survive. She moves from one artist to the next, never staying long enough to get attached. But all she wants is a different life— a normal one. She’s spent thousands of years living lie after lie, and now she’s ready for something real.

Sweet, sexy, and steady, Wilder Bell feels more real than anything else in her long existence. And most importantly… he’s not an artist. He doesn’t want her for her ability. But she can’t turn off the way she influences people, not even to save a man she might love. Because in small doses, she can help make something beautiful, but her ability has just as much capacity to destroy as it does to create. The longer she stays, the more obsessed Wilder will become. It’s happened before, and it never turns out well for the mortal.

Her presence may inspire genius.

But it breeds madness, too.

My Review:
Kalli is not your average college student. For her, time is a never ending loop. She lives to inspire mortals, to be their Muse. It is not simply something she should do but, something she must do. If she does not she will slip into madness. This book was the perfect blend of romance, love, action, and Greek mythology all mixed into one. The paranormal aspect was not overpowering but, a perfect complimentary piece to the story. I felt for Kalli throughout this story. She was completely ruled by her "gift". It was a curse at times. She never knew what it was like to live a normal life with a normal guy. She did like her artists and seeing them thrive but, it was such a delicate balance. She never truly gets to live for her. Then she meets Wilder and her whole world is turned upside down. Can she have a normal life or is the risk to great?

Wilder is a pretty awesome guy. Not Kalli's typical artist. He is a businessman with a family. He is also utterly gorgeous! So that always helps right?! He is drawn to Kalli from the first time they meet. He can't get her out of his head. There were times I wondered just how much Kalli's influence was effecting him. Don't get me wrong the romance between them is sizzling! I mean wow! Their love story is not an easy one however. Kalli has to always be vigilant to not over power Wilder. I felt bad for her. To constantly have to check yourself to make sure the man you are developing feelings for is safe has to be exhausting. When all she wanted was a chance at a normal life. Being Immortal isn't always as awesome as it may seem. She struggled with her secret a lot. Does she want to hide who she is forever? Can she handle the consequences of telling her secret?

The mythology aspect was great in this book. There were times I forgot about it completely and thought they were a regular couple. It was always there floating int he background and it became more prevalent towards the end. Dare I say we are going to get some action from the Gods in the next book!!?? I hope so! Mythology has always been a passion of mine and this book sucked me in completely.

I wouldn't say it necessarily ended on a cliffhanger. Maybe a little one. I am insanely curious to see where the story will go now. The Mythology really picked up at the end and I NEED to know what is going to happen with Wilder and Kalli. Their relationship is so fresh and now insanely complicated. I am anxiously awaiting the next book!!!

Goodreads Summary:
Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Suspicion by Alexandra Monir

Goodreads Summary:
“There’s something hidden in the maze.”

Seventeen-year-old Imogen Rockford has never forgotten the last words her father said to her, before the blazing fire that consumed him, her mother, and the gardens of her family’s English country manor.

For seven years, images of her parents’ death have haunted Imogen’s dreams. In an effort to escape the past, she leaves Rockford Manor and moves to New York City with her new guardians. But some attachments prove impossible to shake—including her love for her handsome neighbor Sebastian Stanhope.

Then a life-altering letter arrives that forces Imogen to return to the manor in England, where she quickly learns that dark secrets lurk behind Rockford’s aristocratic exterior. At their center is Imogen herself—and Sebastian, the boy she never stopped loving.

Combining spine-tingling mystery, romance, and unforgettable characters, Suspicion is an action-packed thrill ride.

My Review:
Imogen has always lived in the shadow of her Rockford last name. Ever since her parents died in a fire at the Rockford home she has lived in the U.S. ever since. She wanted nothing to do with the Rockfords ever again. She was heartbroken. Everything changes the day she finds out about some terrible news from England. The kind that puts her at the center of life at Rockford manor. She is now the Duchess and her life is about to change drastically. Things are not as they seem back in England. The people she once knew are no longer the same and not everyone is there to help her transition. The one person she has been waiting to see is Sebastian, her childhood love. Who unfortunately was dating her cousin. Things seem to be going ok until some suspicious things start happening. Voices, ghostly apparitions, and Imogen's strange power. Could all this be a coincidence or is there more at play? Who can Imogen trust though this time of change?

Imogen has loved Sebastian since she was a child. Sebastian had been with Imogen's cousin when she was in the U.S. And according to everyone else they were madly in love. Imogen feels pretty alone in this whole situation. Especially given the strange dreams, ghostly sightings, and her insanely green thumb. Eventually Sebastian pulls his head out of his behind and tries to help Imogen. Her supernatural powers are freaking her out a little bit. I liked them together! I wanted them to figure things out but, it was hard.

So much happened in this book. It had just the right amount of mystery, supernatural, and romance wrapped into one. In a world of so many books with similar stories this one was different. I loved it and I am a fan of Rebecca so this one was perfect for me! I highly recommend it to anyone in need of something different.
