“There’s something hidden in the maze.”
Seventeen-year-old Imogen Rockford has never forgotten the last words her father said to her, before the blazing fire that consumed him, her mother, and the gardens of her family’s English country manor.
For seven years, images of her parents’ death have haunted Imogen’s dreams. In an effort to escape the past, she leaves Rockford Manor and moves to New York City with her new guardians. But some attachments prove impossible to shake—including her love for her handsome neighbor Sebastian Stanhope.
Then a life-altering letter arrives that forces Imogen to return to the manor in England, where she quickly learns that dark secrets lurk behind Rockford’s aristocratic exterior. At their center is Imogen herself—and Sebastian, the boy she never stopped loving.
Combining spine-tingling mystery, romance, and unforgettable characters, Suspicion is an action-packed thrill ride.
My Review:
Imogen has always lived in the shadow of her Rockford last name. Ever since her parents died in a fire at the Rockford home she has lived in the U.S. ever since. She wanted nothing to do with the Rockfords ever again. She was heartbroken. Everything changes the day she finds out about some terrible news from England. The kind that puts her at the center of life at Rockford manor. She is now the Duchess and her life is about to change drastically. Things are not as they seem back in England. The people she once knew are no longer the same and not everyone is there to help her transition. The one person she has been waiting to see is Sebastian, her childhood love. Who unfortunately was dating her cousin. Things seem to be going ok until some suspicious things start happening. Voices, ghostly apparitions, and Imogen's strange power. Could all this be a coincidence or is there more at play? Who can Imogen trust though this time of change?
Imogen has loved Sebastian since she was a child. Sebastian had been with Imogen's cousin when she was in the U.S. And according to everyone else they were madly in love. Imogen feels pretty alone in this whole situation. Especially given the strange dreams, ghostly sightings, and her insanely green thumb. Eventually Sebastian pulls his head out of his behind and tries to help Imogen. Her supernatural powers are freaking her out a little bit. I liked them together! I wanted them to figure things out but, it was hard.
So much happened in this book. It had just the right amount of mystery, supernatural, and romance wrapped into one. In a world of so many books with similar stories this one was different. I loved it and I am a fan of Rebecca so this one was perfect for me! I highly recommend it to anyone in need of something different.
