Goodreads Summary:
Tadeo Raines knows what they say about him. It’s all lies.

But lies are better than the truth.

He broke the rules once and swore he’d never do it again. Now traitors plot against the fleet, and he's tasked with hunting them down and stopping them. Permanently.

Tadeo was born to command, born to lead the last remnants of humanity to a new Earth. He knows there’s a better world out there: Daylight at the end of humanity's long night. And he's willing to do whatever it takes to get the fleet there.

Even if it means walking the line between loyalty and treason. And breaking the rules... Again.

Goodreads Summary:
Save me and I'll save you...

My name is Calla Price. I’m eighteen years old, and I’m one half of a whole.
My other half-- my twin brother, my Finn-- is crazy.

I love him. More than life, more than anything. And even though I’m terrified he’ll suck me down with him, no one can save him but me.

I’m doing all I can to stay afloat in a sea of insanity, but I’m drowning more and more each day. So I reach out for a lifeline.

Dare DuBray.

He’s my savior and my anti-Christ. His arms are where I feel safe, where I’m afraid, where I belong, where I’m lost. He will heal me, break me, love me and hate me.

He has the power to destroy me.

Maybe that’s ok. Because I can’t seem to save Finn and love Dare without everyone getting hurt.

Why? Because of a secret.

A secret I’m so busy trying to figure out, that I never see it coming.

You won’t either.

ARC Review of Captive by Aimee Carter

Goodreads Summary:
For the past two months, Kitty Doe's life has been a lie. Forced to impersonate the Prime Minister's niece, her frustration grows as her trust in her fake fiancĂ© cracks, her real boyfriend is forbidden and the Blackcoats keep her in the dark more than ever.

But in the midst of discovering that her role in the Hart family may not be as coincidental as she thought, she's accused of treason and is forced to face her greatest fear: Elsewhere. A prison where no one can escape.

As one shocking revelation leads to the next, Kitty learns the hard way that she can trust no one, not even the people she thought were on her side. With her back against the wall, Kitty wants to believe she'll do whatever it takes to support the rebellion she believes in—but is she prepared to pay the ultimate price?

My Review:
All I can say about Captive is hold on to your seat because it is a WILD ride. Things for Kitty are only getting worse. She is having a hard time maintaining her secret identity. She wants her own life with Benjy. She gets to steal moments with him but, it's not what she wants. She understands how important it is for her to keep her fake identity going though. Things get insane when the minister finds out about her and with the help of Knox she is sent Elsewhere. Yes, Elsewhere. She does not have fun here, it is pure torture. What I did learn was everything happens for a reason. Whether Kitty believes it or not the Rebellion must happen and is really important. Will Kitty be able to continue her lie or has it put her life at risk to much? Can she live with the deaths her actions have caused?

There were so many times I wanted to just grab Kitty, shake her and just give her a good slap. She either was all in to help or flat out refused. She went back and forth so much. Her actions caused the deaths of quite a few people actually. I think this fact will eventually weigh on Kitty. Especially one person!!! I was like OMG! NOOOO! Seriously this book threw me in so many loops I couldn't put it down. Kitty needs to man up and be all in or all out. This half in crap just doesn't work.

Benjy is still the main love interest. His relationship with Kitty is very cute and they deeply care about each other. I like that their isn't really a love triangle in this series. I like Benjy, I do but, I really like Knox. Even though him and Kitty pretty much have a "next time I see you I'm going to kill you" relationship during Captive. I have this think about the underdog. Therefore I have high hopes for Knox and hope he finds love. Even if during Captive he was being quite the jerk.

Captive was full of surprises. The Rebellion is starting and a lot of lives have been lost already. Kitty also finds a long lost relative which I thought was a great twist. The world is about to change and the book ended with quite the curve ball so I will be anxiously awaiting the next book!

Life Before Damaged Volume 1 by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:
Money. Power. Sex.

The trifecta every man strives for and very few attain. I had these things and walked away from the endless stream of women, from the family fortune, from everything. It was all mine in a life long forgotten. The past can't stay buried forever and hiding mine from Sidney is getting harder. I'm not the guy she thinks, and if she knows the truth I risk losing her.

The thing is, I feel those old ways pulling me back, and if Sidney is part of my life she has to know. If she doesn't it could destroy us both.

The truth won't set me free. No matter what my name is, I'll always be a Ferro. But Sidney has a choice and I won't steal it from her.

Genre: New Adult Romance

This story unfolds over multiple volumes approx. 125 pages each.

My Review:
Let me just start by saying I think we need these for all the Ferro men. Life before they were the men they are now. Let's be honest they would be insanely interesting and eye opening. All the Ferro men have a back story that led them to be who they are and I think we all need to hear them! Anyway, Peter's story starts out very interesting. The first night he meets Gina. The story is actually Gina's journals that Peter has found. Sydney is reading them because Peter doesn't want to keep secrets from her. Honesty is always a good place to start since they are engaged. I am curious to see where this story will go and how Sydney will react to it. Will it end up being to much for her? What could Peter be so afraid of?

I am glad we get the chance to know Gina. She seems like a good person so far. Someone who lives life by the rule book, a good girl. The night her friend convinces her to have a rave at one of her Dad's warehouses ends very badly for her. The events of the night lead to her needing to leave the scene so her Dad doesn't know she was involved. Who comes to the rescue? None other then Peter Ferro.  Needless to say, the night has taken a very eventful turn. Peter is a hot sex god and Gina is drawn to him. She has a boyfriend she loves but, their sex life is very vanilla. She can only imagine what sex with Peter would be like. Could she go through with it if she had the chance?

Such an eye opening volume. I can only imagine what will happen to get to the present. I will be looking forward to the next installment!

Goodreads Summary:
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife's head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media--as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents--the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter--but is he really a killer?

As the cops close in, every couple in town is soon wondering how well they know the one that they love. With his twin sister, Margo, at his side, Nick stands by his innocence. Trouble is, if Nick didn't do it, where is that beautiful wife? And what was in that silvery gift box hidden in the back of her bedroom closet?

I keep a calendar of tour, review, and read book by dates on my phone with alerts haha. It's also important to have fun too. Someone who truly enjoys blogging and sharing their thoughts with the world and who likes scary books because I can't read them at night...don't judge me. Remember it is fun!!

Question of the Week
Create a playlist for a book - or a single song if you don't want to do an entire playlist - Suggested by This Girl Reads A Lot and Bubbly and Bookish

This is the perfect question for this week. I have the perfect song for a book I recently finished!! And I have been trying to figure out a way to post about it so here we go! The song is Amnesia by 5 Seconds of Summer. Not all the lyrics apply and neither does the music video but, a lot of it describes how Lacey and Karson after Karson leaves Lacey. How they suffered.

Angelfall by Susan Ee

Goodreads Summary:
It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

My Review:
Penryn is doing everything she can to keep her family safe.  Which is insanely hard after the apocalypse and your mom has mental health problems and your sister is wheelchair bound. Penryn has to take on the protector, sister, and provider roles all at once. Everything changes the night she decides to move her family and witnesses an angel being attacked. She tries to help the angel which leads to her sister being taken by the other group of angels. What is she to do? She decides to do the unthinkable. To help the dying angel heal so she can use him to find her sister. This proves to be a difficult task. This angel is not well liked and it's hard to keep him a secret when they run into other humans. Travelling with an angel can be dangerous. He could kill her so easily and with little effort, even though he is graveling injured. He does prove to be usful however. He has insider information that will lead them to the heart of the angels den. Will Penryn be able save her sister or will she die trying?

I liked Penryn she is a strong female character who definitely cares for her family.  She tries so hard to protect them and to rescue her sister. They are all she has left even if her mom is hard to deal with sometimes. Raffe (angelboy) is really fun to read about. He is witty and a smart ass all at the same time. Him and Penryn don't always get along. They used each other to get what they wanted in the beginning. You begin to see their attraction grow towards the end. Which is awesome!!! Even though it is a very strict rule that angels don't get together with humans. I am really hoping it happens!!! hey would be so cute together. Especially with what Raffe goes through at the end of the book. You can tell he cares. There isn't any romance in this one so I have high hopes for later books!!

It took me forever to read this book and I am ashamed. I really enjoyed it and have already started the next book. Angels have always been something I enjoy reading about. It's one of my favorite paranormal topics! I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!

ARC Review of Laces and Lace by Toni Aleo

Goodreads Summary:
Nine years ago, things were perfect. Lacey and Karson had found their happily ever after in each other…or so they thought. How do two people who were meant to be move on from that once-in-a-lifetime love?

Lacey has a strength inside her that comes alive with the things she’s most passionate about. She’s a fighter, a survivor, and has everything she’s ever wanted but the one thing that matters most—love.

Karson is doing the one thing he loves most—playing hockey for the Assassins, yet he knows regret. He knows his life has been missing the one thing he walked away from so many years ago—Lacey.

Nine years later, and neither has been able to succeed in moving on from what was, what could have been, and who each of their hearts still beats for. When a chance encounter during a fateful night has their paths crossing again, will the tether still attaching their souls allow them to face the past, present, and a possible future?

Can two people with fate on their side find a way back to each other? Overcome all the obstacles in their way to finally live life together to the fullest?

Or will they let those around them and the circumstances they face, along with questions and doubt, ruin a second chance at the life they both deserve?

Laces and Lace includes the prequel Tangled in the Laces, a dollar of your purchase will be donated to the Nashville Predators Foundation.

My Review:
I fell in love with Lacey and Karson during the prequel to Laces and Lace. Lacey had a rough life. She beat breast cancer at such a young age. It runs in her family. Because of this the men in her life, her Dad and brother, are insanely protective of her. They don’t want anything to hurt her ever again. After Karson left her nine years ago she has never really loved another man. She has been in relationships but, they were not the same. Not like her and Karson. What Lacey doesn’t know is that Karson has also been suffering since he left. Lacey doesn’t know the real reason. That Karson was forced to leave because Lacey’s dad threatened his career. Then when they are both feeling low, fate intervenes. They end up in the same cab!! What happens next is truly the most beautiful love story! Do you believe in soul mates?

Karson is actually a great guy. He was put in a very hard place when he had to leave Lacey. He knew it would break her. She had not had reconstructive surgery after she lost her breasts to cancer and he felt like scum leaving. The fact that they both never forgot each other and continued to love despite what happened is a testament to love. He never stopped wanting Lacey and kept tabs on her for nine years. Nine years people!! He never gave up and I love him for it!

After they find each other and re-start their relationship everything seems great. Until they have to tell Lacey’s family. Karson’s was so accepting of Lacey but, Lacey’s family hates Karson, because of what he did to her. I really didn’t like Lacey’s Dad. I know he thought he was protecting her because he didn’t want to lose his daughter. Having her fight cancer must have been awful after losing his wife but, there is no excuse for what he did. Between Lacey’s brother, sister-in-law, and Dad she is manipulated in to questioning everything. I was so mad at her. I was just like “LET HIM MAKE YOU HAPPY!” Seriously!!  It’s hard when you have family vs. the man you love. Shame on them for putting her in that position! Who will win? After numerous deceptions how can things be the same?

Laces and Lace is a story of survival, bravery, and endearing love. A story of when two people collide and life without the other is miserable. After I read the prequel to Laces and Lace I was dying to read the full novel. This story touched my heart and I urge you to go get your copy!

All Things Pretty Part 1&2 by M. Leighton

Goodreads Summary:
**The total length of this novel is 348 pages. The first part (here) is 57,000 words and the additional FREE part two is 26,000 words.**

Pretending to be something they’re not, afraid to trust anyone completely, destined to tear each other apart– this is the story of unlikely love and unbearable consequences.

Sig Locke is a cop. He was raised by a cop and all his brothers are cops. He bleeds blue, believes in right and wrong, and sees in black and white, never in shades of gray.

But that was before he met Tommi.

Tommi, with her long legs and bright green eyes, she captured Sig’s interest from the moment he saw her. Even after he discovered who she was–the girlfriend of a drug dealer, the beauty behind a criminal–he still found her utterly irresistible. What Sig doesn’t know, however, is that she has a secret even a cop can’t uncover.

Tommi Lawrence hasn’t had an easy life, and it only got more complicated the day she met Sig. She learned long ago that she can’t trust anyone. Her gut tells her that Sig is no exception, her heart tells her that he is. But that was before she found out his real identity.

Can love be forged in a fire of lies? Or will the truth destroy them both?

My Review:
I loved Tommi! She was an amazing female character. She did not have a typical childhood. She had to grow up very fast after something happened to her Mother which left her in need of complete care. Which Tommi did by herself. That is an insanely hard thing to do. It is time consuming and both mentally and physically taxing. She also has a brother with Asperger's Syndrome. She does not have it easy. So what's a girl to do? Well, date a criminal with a lot of money could only help right? There is way more to the story that you will figure out when you read the book! Tommi did the best she could with what she had. Sig is a big hot hunk of a guy! Oh, and he's a cop! I do love a man in uniform. Sig meets Tommi by accident and is instantly attracted to her. When he finds out who she's dating only adds to it. He sees an in to go under cover and try to bring down Tommi's man. Will he succeed? How long can he ignore his feelings for Tommi?

Tommi and Sig have sexual chemistry from minute one when they meet. It took so long for them to finally hook up! I mean it felt that way haha. You have to look at the whole story I guess. Sig is assigned to be Tommi's security and if anything happens between them it could result in both of them dead! Tommi's boyfriend is a dangerous guy. She doesn't want to risk her family or Sig to get wheat she wants but, how long will they last?? Let me just say that the romance scenes in this one are scorching hot! Seriously!

So much happened that I never thought would. The back story was great and full of "wow" moments. Especially the end. I was stunned by what happened. Completely blindsided! I love it when a book is able to do that. Keeps you interested.

This was another great addition to this series. I loved Sig in the other books and I was glad to finally get his story. Be sure to get part 2 because that is where then end of the book is! I was like OMG! Where is the rest haha.

ARC Review of The Arrangement Vol. 17 by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:
There are choices that change a life forever. I know with complete certainty my life would have been very different if I'd chosen another path. But I didn't. I chose Sean. In the moments he's missing, the remnants of my world crumble. Peter is a pillar of strength, but he's still a Ferro through and through. If I don't go after Marty alone, I risk Peter reverting to the man he once was. If I do go alone, I may never come back. My life pivots on a pinhead, forcing me again to choose between logic and love.

My Review:
This story took a turn that I seriously was blindsided by. I thought I knew where this series was going but, boy was I wrong. Now the possibilities are endless. Avery is caught in the middle of something that goes back before she was born. With her mother. Who was involved with someone with a very dangerous lifestyle. Avery has found the documents that could move her up in the world. Not to a place where most people would want to be but, Avery has changed. She is a different person now with different goals. Can she get to this position or will she die in the process?

Avery and Sean. God I love them but, Sean needs to pull his head out of his ass and just be with Avery. Whether he is "what he needs" or not. Not being with her is clearly more dangerous them being with her. He needs to save her from herself because at this point I think she would die for him. to be honest I think that is where this will all end. Someone is going to die especially with where we are at now. I just want a happy ending for these two. Whatever happy is. They have been through enough!

This volume has opened up a whole new story line. One that I never pictured but, I could see it happening. Only with Sean's help of course. I don't think Avery could do it herself. They belong together on the top and I hope that's how it ends. Fingers crossed!!!

Goodreads Summary (Netgalley):
Maddie Fynn is a shy high school junior, cursed with an eerie intuitive ability: she sees a series of unique digits hovering above the foreheads of each person she encounters. Her earliest memories are marked by these numbers, but it takes her father’s premature death for Maddie and her family to realize that these mysterious digits are actually death dates, and just like birthdays, everyone has one.

Forced by her alcoholic mother to use her ability to make extra money, Maddie identifies the quickly approaching death date of one client's young son, but because her ability only allows her to see the when and not the how, she’s unable to offer any more insight. When the boy goes missing on that exact date, law enforcement turns to Maddie.

Soon, Maddie is entangled in a homicide investigation, and more young people disappear and are later found murdered. A suspect for the investigation, a target for the murderer, and attracting the attentions of a mysterious young admirer who may be connected to it all, Maddie's whole existence is about to be turned upside down. Can she right things before it's too late?

Goodreads Summary:

As Ember struggles to accept her future, she and her brother are hunted by the Order of St. George.

Faced with Ember's bravery, confidence and all-too-human desires, Garret begins to question everything that the Order has ingrained in him: and what he might be willing to give up to find the truth about dragons.

Goodreads Summary:
“In a few days, days, the whole world will fall to the undead. It's inevitable.”

I'm being chased by the DeadBorn and everything's gone chaotic.

Just last night I was playing baseball in the park. Now, hordes of undead swarm the streets, roused by a magic that's raging out of control, drawing the lifeless from their graves and luring demons from a different world. And they're all after the one person that I care about: my girlfriend, Holly. She's being chased by a necromancer who won't stop until she finds her. Not even if it means bathing the world in a wash of blood.

The DeadBorn are almost impossible to kill. A simple head shot won't do the trick. We have to break them into pieces, smash them until they're nothing. And those are just the lopers. There are other DeadBorn, too, ones with fire in their faces, some that spew acid, and then there are the ones that can take down helicopters.

We'd already be dead if it weren't for Holly's dreams. She says she knows what to do, and I think we're just going to have to trust her because there's no time for anything else. We can't run; we can't even hide.

The necromancer knows where we are, and the legion is coming.

Goodreads Summary:
Rebekah vows to expose the truth behind the RecruitZ that are killing the innocents. These creatures must be stopped, but so should the people controlling them. When Rebekah uncovers who is behind the uprisings, her own life becomes in danger.
