One lost love.
One lost best friend.
One hot soul reaper.

Straight out of the psyche ward, Cora just wants her life to be normal. She doesn’t want to see souls or the reapers collecting them. The love of her life, the guy she’s loved from a distance for years, has moved away without saying goodbye. So yes, she’s nursing a serious heartbreak. It’s no wonder love is the last thing on her mind when Echo storms into her life.

The chemistry between them is mind-blowing. The connection defies logic. It doesn’t help that Echo is the poster boy for everything she hates in a guy—hot, beautiful, and cocky. A general pain-in-the-butt. Being around him makes her feel more alive than she’s ever felt before. But more important, the souls leave her alone when he is around.

Echo is perfect for her. Echo might even be her soul-mate. There is only one problem. Echo is a freaking soul reaper. A Grimnir. The very beings she wants out of her life. Maybe normal is overrated because Cora wants it all. Answers. Love. A life. You see, once you fall for a Grimnir, your life will never be the same again.

The Infernal Detective by Kirsten Weiss

Goodreads Summary:
When Riga Hayworth finds a dead body in her bedroom a week before her wedding, it’s par for the course. When the corpse drives off with her fiancĂ©e… That’s a problem.

Riga knows dead. More intimately than she’d like. So when a murdered photographer gets up and walks away, she’s believes there’s necromancy afoot. And when she discovers that several of her wedding guests are under the influence of dark magic, she’s certain. But how can she catch a killer and stop a necromancer when even her nearest and dearest are lying to her?

Murder. The undead. Irritating relatives. The Infernal Detective is a fast-paced, paranormal mystery, where nothing is quite as it seems, and magic lies just beyond the veil.

My Review:
I really enjoy a good murder mystery and then add it a little paranormal and you have my cup of tea. The Infernal Detective was gifted to me by the author in exchange for a honest review. This is book 4 in a the Riga Haywroth Series but, it can be read as a stand alone. I will probably be adding the rest of the books to my TBR list because this one was such a fun read. Riga is not your average PI. She is also a witch! Which makes it all the more fun. She had a great personality which kept me interested in her as a character. Riga is getting married to a man named Donovan. Her pre-wedding party however, does not go as planned. Dead bodies and missing fiancees lead to a very interesting story! Get ready for a roller coaster of paranormal people! Ghosts, witches, necromancers and more.

Riga's aunts were probably my favorite characters. They were very fun to read about. I feel like all the characters could be regular people. Like possibly my neighbors haha. I love when characters seem like they can be real. It's a mark of great writing. Even with great people around her, secrets are being kept and she doesn't know who to trust. And we can't forge the Mob Boss! Will Riga figure out what is going on?

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys murder with paranormal elements. I loved the language of the book. I have clearly not read an adult book for a while!

Excerpt
"You like vodka?" Kade said. "What?" I glanced at him uncertainly. "That's kind of an odd question. From way out in left field." "You're half Russian." He was staring at me intensely. "You must like vodka." "Oh, no." I returned his gaze with equal intensity. Had he felt that tingle when our hands touched, too? Our conversation was all innocent on the outside but I could sense the sexual tension seething on the inside. Neither of us broke eye contact. He wasn't sitting all that far from me. It wouldn't take much to close the gap and wrap my lips around his. "I had vodka once when I was in tenth grade. Almost threw up. Scotch is more my thing." "Scotch? That's a man's drink." I shrugged, but didn't break eye contact. "Not really." "Any preferred brands?" His voice sounded deeper, more sexual. I was starting to lose myself in those eyes. "I don't know." My voice sounded strange, too. A little breathy. "All kinds of brands. I don't like Jack Daniels, though." "That's not even scotch. That's whiskey." "Same thing." Kade stood up now and edged a little closer. His eyes never left mine. "How can you not like Jack Daniels? That's, like, a Tennessee institution. They make it there, don't they?" "They do." My heart was beating fast. "But Collier and McKeel is more my thing." "How do you know so much about all these drinks, anyway?" he said in that deep, slow voice. "The legal age is twenty-one in Tennessee." I knew my eyes were broadcasting sheer want. He felt it. I'm sure he did, because his eyes fed that want right back at me. "I'm a delinquent." "You are." He took another step closer. I could hear his breathing now. Deeper. Faster. "Collier and McKeel... remind me to let you try Seagram's 83 sometime. Canadians make the best whiskey. Perfect for a delinquent like you." "I'm actually more of a wine person. At least I used to be." We were so close now, barely a hand-span away. Those green eyes never left mine, and consumed me. "Wine? I can see that. I'd peg you as a fan of white. You speak Sauvignon Blanc?" The way he said those French words sounded so sexy. "I speak champagne," I said huskily. "Dom Perignon makes the most amazing Cristal. White Gold is--" I choked off the words, feeling suddenly like I was drowning, and I turned away from Kade. I couldn't hold back the sudden tears. After all this time, something so simple as the name of a drink still affected me. I almost hoped Kade would wrap his arms around me and carry me away from the horrors of the past and save me from the guilt, but when I looked at him I saw he'd retreated to the shade again. He was sitting on the log with his arms crossed, facing away from me, staring at the river.

The Arrangement Vol. #10 by H. M. Ward

Summary:
When Avery realizes that her latest client wasn't Sean she doesn't know what to do. This person has invaded her life on a personal level and to make matters worse she doesn't even know who he is. The only good thing that came from it has been seeing Sean again, but now that he's in front of her, she doesn't want to let him go. However, it's time for Avery to stop pretending and move on with her life, and she knows that Sean Ferro will not be part of it.

My Review:
This was my favorite volume yet! Why you ask? Because Sean is in it almost the ENTIRE time! We get to see a different side of him in Vol. 10. The most shocking part is that his true feelings are finally showing through his tough outer shell and surprise surprise he does care! I felt like a lot of ground was covered during this volume. We learn a lot about how Sean is really feeling about Avery. I felt like a lot of issues were resolved and they are going to move on with their lives. Even after all the crazy video stuff! Will Avery and Sean ever get a happy ever after? Are they forever broken?

What would one of these books be without a little hot romance! Yes, we do get a little fun time with Sean and Avery. Although I have a feeling when these guys finally do get together, like reeeeally together it's going to be insanely hot!! I felt like they were a normal dating couple. The kind of man that Avery makes Sean when they are together is truly beautiful. I think things are going to turn around for Sean and Avery! My hope for them has been renewed!

I have really loved this series. Vol. 10 ended on quite the amazing note! I can not wait to see what is going to happen next! I really hope I am right about whats coming!!

Goodreads Summary:
Between the pissed off creatures that want demon-hunter Lily Marks dead and the fallen angel who just...wants her, Lily is about ready to trade in forever for a comfy job in a cubicle farm.

The fact that she and Julian are civil to one another is enough to have her thrown out of the Sanctuary, but she can't shake her not-so-angelic stalker or how he brings her dangerously close to ecstasy.

Her forbidden relationship with Julian provides the perfect fuel for suspicion when a traitor is discovered to be working within the Sanctuary. Lily quickly finds herself hunted by well, everyone.

Her only hope is to discover the real traitor before she loses everything--and she'll need Julian's help. That is, if Julian is really there to help her...and not destroy her.

Yeah, being a Nephilim isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

Goodreads Summary:
New Adult *Intended for mature audiences.

Baya Brighton is looking forward to her first year at Whitney Briggs University, new friends, dorm life, and finally being close to her brother again. Love is the last thing on the list, but when Baya meets her brother’s roommate she begins to have thoughts and feelings that make even her blush.

Bryson Edwards has a secret he prefers buried in the past and long forgotten. He prefers loose girls, fast cars, and long nights working at the string of bars his family owns. When his roommate’s sister shows up on the scene, she’s far too innocent and sweet for him but he can’t shake Baya out of his mind and worse, it looks like she’s seeping into his heart as well.

Baya seems determined to show her brother she’s not a little kid and equally determined to use Bryson’s body to prove her point. It’s been made pretty clear that Baya is off limits to Bryson but their undeniable sparks explode into a whole lot more than just a few 3:AM KISSES.

ARC Review of Endless by Jessica Shirvington

Goodreads Summary:
LOVE WILL KILL US ALL

Violet Eden thought she was getting things under control. Then all hell breaks loose-literally. In the war between angels and exiles, she's about to face the biggest baddie of all time. Except she's not nearly ready.

The dark exile Phoenix is still messing with her head-not to mention her heart. And her undeniable attraction to Lincoln has gotten downright dangerous. When Hell unleashes its worst, Violet must embrace every facet of her angel self to save the people she cares about and the world as she knows it. But death is not the worst thing she will face...

About the Series and the Author
Violet Eden’s world is about to go to straight to hell.
With its combination of high-adrenaline storytelling, engrossing character development, and a richly imagined mythology, the EMBRACE series has won legions of fans, critical acclaim, and has led to its adaptation into a television series with the CW Network, Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and CBS Television Studios.

Jessica Shirvington’s ground breaking EMBRACE series continues with ENDLESS pitting the half-angel Violet Eden against the forces of Hell itself. Violet thought she was finally getting things under control: she has her mother back. But when children in New York City start to go missing, Violet is the only one who can get to the heart of the truth.
Then all hell breaks loose—literally. In the war between angels and exiles, she’s about to face the biggest bad of all time.  And to make matters worse, dark exile Phoenix is still messing with her head and her heart, and her attraction to fellow half-angel Lincoln has gotten downright dangerous. When Hell unleashes its worst, Violet must embrace every facet of her angel self to save the people she cares about and the world as she knows it. But death is not the worst thing she will face…

Jessica Shirvington lives in Sydney, Australia with her husband of ten years, FOXTEL presenter and former Olympic sprinter Matt Shirvington, and their two daughters. She has previously founded and run a coffee distribution company and been involved in managing the restaurants. A finalist for Cosmopolitan magazine’s Fun, Fearless Female award, Jessica is currently a full-time mom, author and co-director of an investment company.

My Review:
I am in love with this series. Seriously. When I was approved for an ARC I literally jumped up and down. This series gets better and better with each book. This one was by far my favorite. Endless picks up where the previous book left off. Violet's mom is back in the picture and they have to figure out a way to live as a family. Oh yea, and Phoenix and Lilith are loose to reap havoc on the world. After getting everyone together they try to find a way to kill Lilith. Violet's mom brings a lot of very helpful information to the table about how she rid the world of Lilith before. The only problem....one of the ingredients is not around anymore. To make matters worse Lilith is abducting children and plans to kill them. Yup...children. Violets feelings for Lincoln are also getting harder to control. They are soul mates after all. Things for Violet also change when she has to perform in front of the Academy to prove herself to the Grigori Counsel. Will Violet be able to stop Lilith and at what cost?

Violet has grown so much throughout this series. I feel like she has really come into her own. She is a fierce warrior who is strong and able to do so much. She learns to deal with her Mom and I hope their relationship continues to grow. So many things happened during Endless that caused Violet to learn more about herself and her powers. There is more then meets the eye with her that's for sure. Unfortunately nothing can prepare Violet for what is to come. She will never be the same. The thing that she goes through...the price she pays...I don't know how you come back from it.

Violet and Lincoln are the most heartbreaking couple I have read about. Two people who love each other so much but, can't be together. I don't know how they do it. Sometimes their defenses slip and their real emotions come through. There are some pretty hot moments between them. However, they always put their shields up to prevent things from going further. I want these two to be together forever so bad! Worse then any other couple in any series I have read!!! When it comes to Phoenix, I don't hate him as much anymore. You'll have to read to find out why.

I love this series. It is one of my favorites. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. This story is so perfect and so is the writing. The ending left me in tears. Like terrible ugly crying. I need to know what is going to happen in the next book!!! Like seriously...NEED TO KNOW!

Title: Angel Eyes
Author: Shannon Dittemore
Release Date: May 29, 2012
Series Number: 1

Goodreads Summary:
Once you’ve seen, you can’t unsee. Everything changes when you’ve looked at the world through . . .

ANGEL EYES

Brielle’s a ballerina who went to the city to chase her dreams and found tragedy instead. She’s come home to shabby little Stratus, Oregon, to live with her grief and her guilt . . . and the incredible, numbing cold she can’t seem to shake.

Jake’s the new guy at school. The boy next door with burning hands and an unbelievable gift that targets him for corruption.

Something more than fate has brought them together. An evil bigger than both of them lurks in the shadows nearby, hiding in plain sight. Two angels stand guard, unsure what’s going to happen. And a beauty brighter than Jake or Brielle has ever seen is calling them to join the battle in a realm where all human choices start.

A realm that only angels and demons—and Brielle—can perceive.

My Thoughts
I really like this cover and the story sounds really good. The cover of book 3 is what caught my eye and got me interested. I am up for a good angel series. I haven't found a lot that I have liked so I am excited for this one!

BLOG TOUR! A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers

Welcome to my stop on the A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers tour! I am a huge fan of her books and am so excited to take part in her tour!! I have really liked her books and A Little Too Far was no different. My post includes a review of the book. Feel free to take a look around! Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Too Far (A Little Too Far, #1)
Publisher: HarperCollins
Release Date: September 17th, 2013 (eBook), October 1st, 2013 (Print)

Synopsis
Have you ever gone just a little too far?

Lexie Banks has.

Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for the better part of the last few years … and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome.

But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt … and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy-on-the-eyes deacon … only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either way.

My Review
First of all I have to say that this book was great. I'll admit I was nervous about the love triangle part. I am not a fan of love triangles. This one however was done right! It was great, I really liked both guys. Early on Lexie realizes she has feelings for her stepbrother, Trent. After a pretty nasty break up he comforts her and well one thing leads to another and bam! Mind blowing sex...with her stepbrother. Yup, lots of hot moments in this book! This freaks them out at first. Lexie is confused and doesn't know if being with Trent is the right thing for her. Lucky for her she has a semester in Rome for college. While she is in Rome she goes to confession at church and confesses her sins. The priest gives her a project to do to keep her buys. This is where she meets Alessandro. Alessandro is a super hot soon to be priest. He might be just what she needs to get her mind off Trent. Will Lexie find love in Rome? Will she be able to get over Trent?

I really liked Lexie. She was a strong independent woman who cared a lot about her education. She is just getting over a messy break up with an idiot who cheated on her numerous times. I't's great that she gets to go to Rome to study art. Where is better then Rome? Seriously! She loves it there. She sees herself living there. It is beautiful and rich with culture. After she gets her assignment from the priest she meets Alessandro. He is a soon to be priest with a rough past. He is very nice to Lexie and tries to help her. Her assignment involves art and to Lexies surprise she loves it. She starts to her feelings for Alessandro but, is obviously conflicted with his priest status. She meets his family, he cooks for her, and comforts her. Perfect right? Will Alessandro break his vows for Lexie?

Lexie and Trent are best friends. Trent was there for her to comfort her and help her get through it. He has always been there for Lexie. That is what makes it hard for them. Lexie doesn't want to ruin their relationship and after the sleep together things are different. They don't tell each other everything anymore. When she leaves for Rome things between them are awkward. They text some while she is there. When she is home for break she is surprised to see Trent with her best friend. She is hurt by this. She still loves Trent and doesn't want him with someone else. These two are so cute together. The stepbrother thing didn't bother me at all. They both need each other. Who will Lexie choose?

This was such a fun read. Both love interests were awesome and the love triangle was perfectly written. I am so glad Lisa Desrochers decided to write a New Adult Romance! A Little Too Far was perfect! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a love triangle done right. The end was perfect! I loved it! It was hard because I liked both guys. Perfect ending! Arcadia's Curse by Jesi Lea Ryan

Goodreads Summary:
Think high school sucks? Try being an empath who has to experience everyone else’s suckage on top of your own. (Literally.)

In the months since her family life imploded and her psychic gifts began to arise, Cady has struggled to figure out how she can fit into her normal life without going crazy from the constant presence of emotional energy. Her grades have tanked. Her best friend is afraid of her. And she begins to have doubts about why her boyfriend, Bryan, is really keeping her around. But a chance meeting with another gifted girl online opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Unfortunately, this new world comes at an awful price.

My Review:
I was so excited when I got the chance to review Arcadia's Curse. I really enjoyed the first book and was excited to see what was going to happen next for Arcadia. This book starts off after the fist one left off. Cady is still trying to get her empath gift under control. Her grades are slipping and things with Bryan are kind of complicated. Her ability to heal people leaves her with migraines and drains her of energy. She can't take it anymore and wants to quit school. She finds some peace when she sleeps and a new friend of hers visits her in her dreams. Things for Cady are about to change drastically. Her life will be forever different. Relationships changed. Will Cady ever get her gift under control? Will her life ever be normal?

Cady gets the opportunity to go to a new "school" if you will. A place where people with gifts like her learn how to control them and block out feelings. It also does work with the government. To help them catch bady guys while using their gifts. In order to do this Cady has to tell her dad about her gift. This doesn't go ever well at first but, he will come around. We get some new characters in this one! Dr. Helbo that helps her with her gift, Alejandra who is a dream walker, and Bastian who can move things with his mind. Cady decides to give this program a try. Its a huge decision to make. To leave everyone she cares about and be hours away. Will this make a difference for Cady? Or will it give Cady more problems?

Now to the guys! Cady is still with Bryan. She has really strong feelings for him. I really liked him in the fist book but, less in the second. I really felt like he used Cady as an excuse to do dangerous thing because she could heal him. Without thinking about how much it affected her physically. Cane is still around and has feelings for Cady however Cady does not feel the same. I think there is something going on with Cane. I can't put my finger on it but, something isn't right. I could be completely wrong though haha! Bastian is a whole other story. Cady claims numerous times there are no romantic feelings there but, I kind of wish there were. I like Bastian. I think he can relate so much more to Cady's situation then the other guys.

I loved this book. This is what a sequel done right is suppose to be. Amazing characters and great story line. I was on the edge of my seat until the very end. So many crazy things happen toward the end of the book. Cady has changed and she now knows more about her gifts and what she is truly capable of. I am so excited to see where book 3 will take us!

Goodreads Summary:
Did you just see a flash of lightning across the sky on a clear sunny day? It’s not from Mother Nature. It is most likely from Mason Grand, swoon-worthy demigod, one of Zeus’s descendants.

Skylar Rome is supposed to be having the best summer ever before she heads off to college. Little did she know, her whole life was about to change while visiting her cousin. Nearly drowning at the beach due to unknown forces, one of the Grand brothers she’d just met, Mason, saves her life. Cool, collected, mysterious, and dangerously good-looking, Skylar is drawn to him from the start. Though she knows he is the type of guy good girls stayed away from, it seems he is always saving her life, and the attraction was inevitable.

Goodreads Summary:
The Goddess War begins in Antigoddess, the first installment of the new series by acclaimed author of Anna Dressed in Blood, Kendare Blake.

Old Gods never die…

Or so Athena thought. But then the feathers started sprouting beneath her skin, invading her lungs like a strange cancer, and Hermes showed up with a fever eating away his flesh. So much for living a quiet eternity in perpetual health.

Desperately seeking the cause of their slow, miserable deaths, Athena and Hermes travel the world, gathering allies and discovering enemies both new and old. Their search leads them to Cassandra—an ordinary girl who was once an extraordinary prophetess, protected and loved by a god.

These days, Cassandra doesn’t involve herself in the business of gods—in fact, she doesn’t even know they exist. But she could be the key in a war that is only just beginning.

Because Hera, the queen of the gods, has aligned herself with other of the ancient Olympians, who are killing off rivals in an attempt to prolong their own lives. But these anti-gods have become corrupted in their desperation to survive, horrific caricatures of their former glory. Athena will need every advantage she can get, because immortals don’t just flicker out.

Every one of them dies in their own way. Some choke on feathers. Others become monsters. All of them rage against their last breath.

The Goddess War is about to begin.
