Goodreads Summary:
Run fast and run far, unless you’re fearless. Unless you’re courageous. I’m not, but I’d like to be.

Pearl Jaeger is seventeen and homeless after drugs, poverty, and addiction unraveled the life she shared with JJ, her formerly glamorous rock star mother.

This moment of happiness is fleeting; someone will take it from me.

When tragedy brings a chance to start over at an elite boarding school, she doesn’t hesitate. Yet the only salvation comes from an art teacher as troubled as Pearl, and she faces the stark reality that what she thought she wanted isn’t straightforward.

I trace the outline of my reflection in a window. I am no more than a replica of my mother. This is not the self-portrait I want to paint.

Through the friendships she forms at school—especially with Grant, a boy who shows Pearl what it means to trust and forgive—she begins to see a path not defined by her past. But when confronted with the decision to be courageous or to take the easy way forged by her mother’s failures, which direction will Pearl choose?

Goodreads Summary:
When a hot guy with blazing blue eyes and a sexy smirk saves my ass and covers up my sins, I know I'm screwed. He's poor, and is probably morally deprived like every other ass I've attracted recently.

I admit it. I'm a moron magnet. If the guy's a dick, then he sweeps me off my feet and promptly stabs me in the back. Billionaires are all the same. I've fallen for loser after loser, which earned me the classy reputation of being easy. I'm easy on the eyes, easy to bed.

But no one knows the truth, no one knows the events that forced me into the ledge of that elite NYC hotel--no one except that strapped, hot waiter.

Now I have to figure out if he's an ally or an enemy. I need a friend, a real one, and not some jerk who's after my money or my name. But If I make the wrong choice, it'll destroy me.

The ledge high above the city was only the beginning. No one can help me now. I'm on my own.

My Review
Who doesn't love a bad boy?! I know I do. I don't know if I could have handled Chase. He was the perfect bad boy. Unfortunately, for Laurie she finds this out the hard way. She thought she knew Chase but, as it turns out bad boys lie. They lie pretty well even. Laurie has to try to overcome these issues when she finds herself in a predicament and Chase is the one who comes to her rescue. This is not your typical love story. Will these two make it together or end it?

The secondary characters were beautifully written as well. All around great writing. I really enjoyed this book! I loved that it was the 3rd in the series but, could be read as a stand alone. Jude was probably my favorite. I felt like all the characters were realistic and well written.  I loved every minute of it.

Despite how hard it was for Chase and Laurie to have a relationship, I still liked them together. They were an insanely fun couple to read about. They obviously work out well in the bedroom. It's the rest of the time that they have to work on. When you have a relationship built on lies it is hard to come back from. Trust is the cornerstone of any relationship. Even a fake one.

This one is a must read. Even if you haven't' read the previous books in the series. It was a great way to wrap up the series!

Goodreads Summary:
Seduction has never been so sweet! The New York Times bestselling author of the Cold Fury series—Alex, Garrett, Zack, and Ryker—returns with the first novel in a hot new trilogy.

“Sawyer Bennett never fails to deliver heroes I fall hard for and heroines I adore,” raves Violet Duke. Now the bestselling author of the Cold Fury series proves that vengeance is sweet—but seduction is to die for.

Sela Halstead lost her innocence in a way that no sixteen-year-old should ever have to endure. She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.

The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.

The sport she loves is out of reach. The boy she loves has someone else.

What now?

She expected to start Harkness College as a varsity ice hockey player. But a serious accident means that Corey Callahan will start school in a wheelchair instead.

Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be real Adam Hartley, another would-be hockey star with his leg broken in two places. He’s way out of Corey’s league.

Also, he’s taken.

Nevertheless, an unlikely alliance blooms between Corey and Hartley in the “gimp ghetto” of McHerrin Hall. Over tequila, perilously balanced dining hall trays, and video games, the two cope with disappointments that nobody else understands.

They’re just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together. All Corey knows is that she’s falling. Hard.

But will Hartley set aside his trophy girl to love someone as broken as Corey? If he won’t, she will need to find the courage to make a life for herself at Harkness — one which does not revolve around the sport she can no longer play, or the brown-eyed boy who’s afraid to love her back.

ARC Review of Over You by H.M. Ward and L.G. Castillo

Goodreads Summary:
A contemporary retelling of Pride & Prejudice by New York Times bestselling author H.M. Ward and L.G. Castillo.

Charming. Sexy. Rich. William Darcy is the triple threat that should make any woman twerk on sight. He’s everything a woman could want—a beautiful billionaire with sad eyes and a crooked smile. Woman try to lick him on sight, he’s that yummy. Well, unless that woman is Beth Bennet. Her panties don’t drop for anyone, unless there’s love, so a guy like Will Darcy doesn’t stand a chance.

Being shoved up the socialite ladder in New York City chafes so Beth goes to college as far away as possible, but when her father gets sick she finds herself right back where she started—stuck together with a bronzed god who hates her.

The prideful will fall to ruin.

Their prejudice will be their undoing.

And William Darcy will be the first to fall, Beth is certain of that.

My Review:
This is by far my favorite re-telling of Pride and Prejudice. This book pulled me right out of my book funk! Elizabeth Bennet is an awesome character. She has had an interesting life. Not the easiest. She has so much love for her family even if her mother is kind of cold. She has always been there for them. Now with her father falling ill she must go home from college for her family. What she does not expect is to find a man she is interested in. William Darcy is not an easy guy to get to know. He has a very icy exterior. He is confident in himself and it takes a while to chip away that icy facade. One thing is for sure, William and Elizabeth have serious chemistry. Will they work well together or will their pride and prejudice's get in the way?

The family dynamics were so fun to read about. Beth's mom was an interesting character. She changed a lot through the course of this one. I think for the better too. Beth's sisters were awesome and very fun to read about. Beth's dad was also great. He was the stone of the family hat kept the family grounded.

The relationship between Beth and William is an interesting one. They are hot and cold and back and forth. I guess it's true when they say opposites attract. I love the bickering back and forth between them. It really makes the relationship. I think Beth really brings out William's emotions and he doesn't like it. She makes him vulnerable and that is not ok with him. He has this outer exterior that he tries to keep so strong. I love how Beth broke him down and made him feel something. Those moments of weakness for him that left Beth breathless were the best. So much sexual frustration. I loved it!

I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone. It was a great and quick read. Any fan of romance and re-tellings will love it. Pick this one up guys!!

Can they put their differences aside and work together to solve the Knights Templars’ cipher? As they astral travel to the past, they witness a lot more than they have bargained for. And some things are better left unseen.

My Review:

"Mary Ting has done it again. She has create a supernatural world of Angels, Demons, and Vampires. A world that will leave you on the edge of your seat. A world where out of the darkness forbidden love blossoms."

I was so excited for this book! Back in the lives of the Angels and the Crossroads world! Oh, how I have missed them. We get to see how Davin, Zack, and Lucia survive in the human world. As if being a teenager in high school isn't hard enough. Try being an angel who has never been around humans and has to try to fit in. Especially when the reason you are there is a dangerous one. Teenager are disappearing. The pieces start to come together and Zack and Lucia notice something is strange pretty quickly. Things are not what they seem. There is evil at work here. A more powerful evil then they could have imagined. They will not be able to do this on their own. They will need help if they are to survive.

The world building and story lines were awesome in this book. The Knights Templar and their descendants, Demons, Angels, Vampires yes please!!  So of course I was sucked in immediately. The book with secret clues to the treasure. I loved being introduced to this world and I am so excited about where this story is going!

On top of all that Lucia is dealing with a whole different problem. Hormones....Yes, those darn hormones that run rampant in high school. Lucia and Zack are suppose to distance themselves and not care to much about people. If they think with their heart to much they will make reckless decisions and will end up heartbroken. This proves to be a difficult task. The heart is made to love even if it's against the rules. There is nothing better then forbidden love. The kind of love that you would give your life for. I have high hopes for love in the next book!

This book was so much fun to read. I read the whole thing in 2 days. I was sucked into the paranormal world so fast. So much happened. Love, friendship, and loss all in one. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Goodreads Summary:
How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

My Review:
I have had this book for a while but, after seeing The Fifth Wave in the theater I had to read it. I put everything else down and started reading it. I was really surprised when I found it was from Ringer's point of view rather then the characters from the first book. It did go back and forth and that I was ok with. The Infinite Sea picks up almost right after The Fifth Wave. There is so much more happening then we know. The aliens are smart and they are using this against the left over humans. Unfortunately for Ringer she now sees this first hand. Not only that but, things for the group are not going well. Ben is hurt and not doing well and their location is no longer safe. Will they make it out alive?

I detected a bit of a love triangle forming. I like Ben but, I still have hope for Cassie and someone else. Things are very tense and there is no time for love. I see the changes in Sam as well. He grew up a lot while away from Cassie. He had too. I am hoping we get more of their story in the final book.

This book being in Ringer's point of view for the most part was very interesting. I liked her in the first book but, she was by no means my favorite character. Unfortunately, although her story was interesting as far as the alien plans I did not enjoy it much. I found myself having to go back and re-read parts because I was not able to focus while reading. There was a lot of action and I was definitely on the edge of my seat for some of it. I just found Ringers lack of emotion draining. It will be interesting to see where her story goes from here.

I am interested in reading the last book because I have to know how the story will end. I hope the last book will be in Cassie's point of view once again. I am looking forward to it's release.
