Angelfall by Susan Ee

Goodreads Summary:
It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

My Review:
Penryn is doing everything she can to keep her family safe.  Which is insanely hard after the apocalypse and your mom has mental health problems and your sister is wheelchair bound. Penryn has to take on the protector, sister, and provider roles all at once. Everything changes the night she decides to move her family and witnesses an angel being attacked. She tries to help the angel which leads to her sister being taken by the other group of angels. What is she to do? She decides to do the unthinkable. To help the dying angel heal so she can use him to find her sister. This proves to be a difficult task. This angel is not well liked and it's hard to keep him a secret when they run into other humans. Travelling with an angel can be dangerous. He could kill her so easily and with little effort, even though he is graveling injured. He does prove to be usful however. He has insider information that will lead them to the heart of the angels den. Will Penryn be able save her sister or will she die trying?

I liked Penryn she is a strong female character who definitely cares for her family.  She tries so hard to protect them and to rescue her sister. They are all she has left even if her mom is hard to deal with sometimes. Raffe (angelboy) is really fun to read about. He is witty and a smart ass all at the same time. Him and Penryn don't always get along. They used each other to get what they wanted in the beginning. You begin to see their attraction grow towards the end. Which is awesome!!! Even though it is a very strict rule that angels don't get together with humans. I am really hoping it happens!!! hey would be so cute together. Especially with what Raffe goes through at the end of the book. You can tell he cares. There isn't any romance in this one so I have high hopes for later books!!

It took me forever to read this book and I am ashamed. I really enjoyed it and have already started the next book. Angels have always been something I enjoy reading about. It's one of my favorite paranormal topics! I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!
