Wishlist Wednesday #68

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly post put on by Dani at the Pen to Paper blog. Where you post a book you really really want to read or one that has been on your wishlist! If you've seen my to-read list on Goodreads then you know there are plenty that I could use. So I decided to use this feature every Wednesday.

Title: The Fault in our Stars
Author: John Green
Release Date: January 10, 2012
Series Number: 1

Goodreads Summary:
Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

My Thoughts:
I'm not going to lie, this book has had me intimidated since I came across it. I'm so scared of a sad ending! I have to be in the right mood to read something like this. Have any of you read this one? I hope to get it soon.

  1. I love this book! It really did make me cry -- buckets! -- but it's really quite beautiful and the characters are so wonderful! And it's not entirely bleak -- the characters are funny and smart and just so great. I hope you read it!!

  3. I completely understand putting this one off. I bought it last January and left it to sit on my shelf until about a month ago because I feared it'd be incredibly depressing, but it really isn't. Once I finally read it, I ended up loving it. There's a wonderful balance of pain and humor, thankfully. :)

  9. I have been wanting to read this book as well! Especially since I have heard that they are making it into a movie. I always try to read the books before the movie comes out. I hope we both get the chance to read this soon!
