Question of the Week
Q: How do you handle a book you don’t like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

I try really hard to finish them. I haven't found very many that I haven't been able to finish. There has been a few that I DNF but, I try really hard to finish them. I hate to judge a book by the first few chapters.

  1. For me, I just don't have time to power through a book I don't like. There's way too many books on my TBR to waste time with a book I'm not enjoying even a little bit.

  3. I usually tell myself I'll DNF after 50 pages if I don't like it. Then the number climbs and climbs until I've finished it anyways, even if I hated it! LOL New follower Bloglovin, Facebook, Twitter and GFC.

  5. I found that the first few chapters usually does set the pace for the rest of the novel. The only time I give the benefit of the doubt is when it is part of a series and I know that the author has the talent to drag the book out of the gutter.

  6. I always try to get past at least the first few chapters. It's later in the book, during a very slow part, that gets me. Slow parts give me little motivation to continue a book.

  7. I always try to finish a book, but if I have a lot on my TBR shelf, I'm more willing to quit it, I guess.

  8. I try to finish too if at all possible, it's no fun to DNF but I have done it if the book just isn't doing it for me. New follower via bloglovin and GFC.

  10. Usually I will give a book 50-100 pages before I DNF if I'm not enjoying it. I used to power through but I no longer have the time and it turned reading into a chore. There are too many books on my tbr pile for me to feel guilty and I'm picky about what I read, so only have 1 DNF so far!
