Title: Something Great
Author: M. Clarke
Release Date: July 24, 2013
Synopsis
She didn’t know what she was missing…until he found her.
Maxwell Knight was positively trouble, dangerously good-looking, and seductively charming. He was everything Jeanella didn’t need in her life. Only Maxwell didn’t see it that way. His pursuit was relentless, making her even more determined to push him away.
Fresh out of college, life was simple and plain for Jeanella Mefferd. Every part of her life was smooth sailing; her friends, her job, and even the guy she’d started dating. Then one night, while at dinner, she spotted someone who made her feel things she’d never felt before—dangerous, heart pounding and breathless heat. Thinking she would never see him again, she brushed it off, but when she started to run into him unexpectedly, all she could think of was how he made her feel with his sweet flirtations. Everything about Maxwell Knight screamed trouble, especially when she found out he was her new boss’s son. Now, heading to a New York fashion show, would she be able to focus on her career instead of Maxwell, who had been scheduled to attend with her? As much as she tried to forget their encounters, his good looks, smooth words and determination to win her over gravitated her toward him. The next thing she knew, her mind was utterly consumed by him. Would she be willing to ignore all the dangerous signs and jump into his arms? Or would she miss out on the chance of finding something great?

My Review:
"Creating a world of love and passion, a hint of danger and broken rules, the characters are eccentric, fun, and loving. A captivating story that I could not stop reading."
I was lucky enough to get an to take part in the blog tour for this book. In a few words, I loved it! I really liked Jenna as a character. She could have been my sister. She has a normal life and is trying to get the job of her dreams. Life then throws her a loop when she is out with her friend and sees a gorgeous stranger. He makes her all tingly in the right places. She is confused by this because she is dating someone. She ends up running into this guy numerous times and they become “lunch buddies”. They talk about everything, including their jobs. When she finds out that mystery man Max is the boss’s son things get really fun. Max uses his name to get her to the fashion show she wants to work. Things with Max heat up pretty quick. Will a relationship with the boss’s son be a good thing? Will it be good for her job? Can she get over his playboy past?
Jenna has a lot of fun traits. I love the she is allergic to alcohol. It leads to a pretty hot situation. I thought it was unique and not something I have heard of before. Her friend Becky is awesome! I wish I had a friend like that. She is snarky and fun and gives great advice to Jenna. Jenna worries a lot about leaving her safety zone. Which is why she is dating Luke. Will Max pull her from her safety zone and give her something fiery, full of love, and lust?
I loved Max! He was super sexy and had just the right amount of mystery to him. He wasn’t afraid to love her even though she was an employee. He knew just how to push Jenna’s buttons, all of them. He also shows a lot of restraint and doesn’t want to push her. I thought their relationship was great. There was series sexual tension between them. Luke was different. I felt like their relationship was kind of cold, almost like it was easy so they just kept doing it.
This was an awesome debut New Adult Novel for M. Clarke. I loved every bit of it. I would highly recommend this one!
About the Author
Mary Ting resides in Southern California with her husband and two children. She enjoys oil painting and making jewelry. Writing her first novel, Crossroads Saga, happened by chance. It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. It was the reason she had to write one. Why the pen name, M Clarke? She tours with Magic Johnson Foundation to promote literacy and her children’s chapter book, No Bullies Allowed.
