Wait for You by J.Lynn (Jennifer Armentrout)

Goodreads Summary:
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

My Review:

Wait for You is considered a New Adult book. I have to say I am loving this new genre. Avery has had a very difficult past. She ran from her family and her past to college in West Virginia. She is pretty reserved and it takes a little bit to make friends. On her first day she literally runs into Cam. After that she sees him everywhere and he happens to live across the hall from her too. These two have a hard time starting a relationship. Both of them have big secrets and aren't willing to share them for a while. This isn't your typical girl meets hot cocky guy and falls in insta love with him. These guys grow a relationship and it's not easy. I loved all the characters in this book. They were well developed and very enjoyable. The story contains some very mature topics like suicide and sexual assault. I thought the way that was in there was written very well. It can be something hard to write about.

Cam was just plain awesome. The hot cocky/confident guy. His personality was so different from Avery's but, they really clicked. I loved Raphael as well. He was just the all around perfect guy. The reformed womanizer. He knew when to push and when to back off. Always so confident in the way he was. I really liked him. One of my favorite characters. I really wonder what went on in his head sometimes. His family was awesome too! Again they were very different from Avery's uptight parents. He had is trouble in the past too but, had worked through it and it made him a better person. I think he did that for Avery and really did change her life.

There were some times when I was frustrated with Avery. I wanted her to just sit and talk with Cam! To tell him what happened to her when she was 14. I figured it out, kind of, pretty quickly. But, when you think about it more it is something extremely hard to talk about. Especially when it went down the way it did with her family and friends. So I would get frustrated then think about it and I would have probably done the same thing.

I have loved J. Lynn's adult and New Adult books and I am anxiously awaiting more of those books! This one kept me up late at night and I loved every minute of it.
