Yet how can she live with herself if she lies to him?

Goodreads Summary (OMG!):
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne, is the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. It will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on 30th July 2016

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.

Goodreads Summary:
At fifteen, Amanda Grace was abducted on her way home from school. 738 days later, she escaped. Her 20/20 interview is what everyone remembers—Amanda describing the room where she was kept, the torn poster of TV heartthrob Chase Henry on the wall. It reminded her of home and gave her the strength to keep fighting.

Now, years later, Amanda is struggling to live normally. Her friends have gone on to college, while she battles PTSD. She’s not getting any better, and she fears that if something doesn’t change soon she never will.

Six years ago, Chase Henry defied astronomical odds, won a coveted role on a new TV show, and was elevated to super-stardom. With it, came drugs, alcohol, arrests, and crazy spending sprees. Now he's sober and a Hollywood pariah, washed up at twenty-four.

To revamp his image, Chase’s publicist comes up with a plan: surprise Amanda Grace with the chance to meet her hero, followed by a visit to the set of Chase’s new movie. The meeting is a disaster, but out of mutual desperation, Amanda and Chase strike a deal. What starts as a simple arrangement, though, rapidly becomes more complicated when they realize they need each other in more ways than one. But when the past resurfaces in a new threat, will they stand together or fall apart?

Goodreads Summary:
If there’s one thing Mare Barrow knows, it’s that she’s different.

Mare Barrow’s blood is red—the color of common folk—but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control.

The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from Maven, the prince—the friend—who betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.

Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors.

But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat.

Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?

The electrifying next installment in the Red Queen series escalates the struggle between the growing rebel army and the blood-segregated world they’ve always known—and pits Mare against the darkness that has grown in her soul.

Overview
In New York City, an underground society of supernatural beings exists, hidden among everyday humans. They don't know of our activities or any of our secrets.
The districts of the Works are made up of vampires, wolves, shifters, witches, and I'm in the fifth and arguably most important district, the Patchwork. My father is the leader of our group, and he oversees all of the other factions.
As his only daughter, that makes me the princess of it all. Cool, right? Actually...no. Sure, I live in a mansion and money isn't an object, but that doesn't matter because I can't leave. I have a guard who follows me around 24/7. My father and three older brothers treat me like I'm a fragile piece of glass, never allowed to take an independent step or make any decisions on my own. It's beyond frustrating--especially since my father essentially runs my life. He says what I do, when I do it, how I do it, and all that jazz. He tests his formulas and new techniques on me. I'm a walking science experiment. I hate it. I hate my life here.
But then he comes along: Killian. He's just some vampire...or so I thought.
But you'll have to read my story to find out what I mean. To know my secrets. Until then, though, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rebekah von Stein. And I'm a descendant of Dr. Frankenstein.
Welcome to the Works.

"Wow! Toni Aleo is the queen of hockey romance but now she writes paranormal flawlessly. Is there anything she can’t write? I think not. She weaved this new world of witches, wolves, vampires and Dr. Frankenstein’s descendants, that had me hooked from the very first page. It was a fresh new story that I devoured in one sitting. This story was filled with suspense, mystery and romance. It had me on edge wanting, no, needing to know what would happen next." - GoodReads Review \\ Jill M \\ Embrace The Romance

"Okay, so what the hell? I didn't see that coming. I mean, really, the queen of hockey writing about vampires, werewolves and Dr. Frankenstein's descendants? Let me be a little sceptical. And after I read it, let me apologize for it. This book was a fresh wave. I devoured it. It took me only one night to finish it because this story didn't let me go. I'm sitting here trying to put together the pieces - not funny - but I can't. I want to read more books like this one. Just keep it up, Toni!" - GoodReads Review \\ Becca

"I loved this book it was phenomenal.I could not put it down for anything. I help my breath for most of it and still didn't fully exhale when it was over! The end was left with a bit of a cliffhanger and it has me wanted so much more!" - GoodReads Review \\ Ash \\ Morning Books and Coffee

My Review:

Pieces is unlike any book I have read. Enter into a world of supernatural creatures broke into factions. Run by Dr. Frankenstein's descendants. Rebekah does not have a normal life. She is basically her fathers experiment. Replacing her parts and testing formulas on her. Unlike her family, Rebekah is not immortal. Being the only one in your family who isn't immortal is not cool. She has to deal with her brothers/bodyguards all the time. She is a breakable doll to them. She trains with them and got an interesting pair of legs to make her stronger. That is the goal right to keep her safe and keep her strong because she is inherently weak. Prepare to enter a world where nothing is as it seems and the other families are plotting to kidnap Rebekah. Her life is constantly in danger. She lives in a prison where she is not allowed to leave. Will Rebekah ever have a normal life?

Life pretty much sucks for Rebekah, until a handsome vampire named Killian starts to work at the bar. Not only is he hot he seems to be interested in Rebekah. Score! She hasn't had feelings for anyone since her ex so imagine her surprise when Killian starts to make the butterflies fly. Of course it is forbidden for the different creatures to ever mix. Killian is kind of that dark brooding forbidden meat. So of course Rebekah would want him! She must be careful though because things are not as they seem. All around her, Rebekah is being deceived. Will the truth come out? Will Rebekah ever be safe.

This was a very fun read. The story was so original and unlike anything I have ever read. It was a nice change in pace for me. I am hoping we got more books in this series. Especially after how it ended! The story could go so many ways. Aleo has built a world with a lot of possibility and I hope she dives in for more!

Goodreads Summary:
From the USA TODAY Bestselling series Vampire Girl, comes the next book in the saga: MIDNIGHT STAR

I was an ordinary girl, living an ordinary life, until I sold my soul to save my mother. Now, I am forced to choose between my heart and my conscience.

Either way, someone I love will die.

Goodreads Summary:
Serafina, daughter of Isabella, Queen of Miromara, has been raised with the expectation - and burden - that she will someday become ruler of the oldest civilization of the merfolk. On the eve of the Dokimí ceremony, which will determine if she is worthy of the crown, Sera is haunted by a strange dream that foretells the return of an ancient evil. But her nightmare is forgotten the next day as she diligently practices her songspell; eagerly anticipates a reunion with her best friend, Neela; and anxiously worries about Mahdi, the crown prince of Matali, and whether his feelings toward her and their future betrothal have changed. Most of all, she worries about not living up to her mother's hopes.

The Dokimí proceeds, a dazzling display of majesty and might, until a shocking turn of events interrupts it: an assassin's arrow wounds Isabella. The realm falls into chaos, and Serafina's darkest premonitions are confirmed. Now she and Neela must embark on a quest to find the assassin's master and prevent a war between the mer nations. Their search will lead them to other mermaid heriones scattered across the six seas. Together they will form an unbreakable bond of sisterhood as they uncover a conspiracy that threatens their world's very existence.

Goodreads Summary:
Everyone is searching for Mason.

Zeus sent Hermes, and the Oracles have used their magic, with no success. A sparkle of hope arises when Eris, the goddess of Chaos, sends an invitation to her wedding engagement party. She’s holding Mason hostage, and Skylar and her friends only need permission to enter Eris’s world to rescue him.

At the party, Eris gives them one condition: In exchange for Mason, they must travel to the Land of Reverse and bring back the bottle of gold water King Midas used to wash himself free of his gift. Further chaos follows when Eris not only sets up a hunt in the Labyrinth of Crete, but makes a bargain with the Titans she rescued.

The Titans possess power more than anyone anticipated, and Cronus is hungry for revenge after his own children locked him up in Tartarus. No one is safe. Not even the humans.

~

His back was to me, tall with long black hair falling over his shoulders. He signed autographs and took selfies. I wanted to shout and get his attention. I didn’t even know his name.

He turned around. I saw his face up close for the first time. Time stopped. My limbs trembled, going weak. I was seeing a ghost. A ghost of the boy I'd grown up with. The boy I'd fallen in love with. The boy I'd long thought dead.

Then dark eyes met mine as Ren spoke my name and I fell for him all over again.

Now he says he wants me in his life. I want to believe him, but five years is a long time. Ren's changed. I've changed. He refuses to speak about the past. He won't tell me why he ran off and disappeared. Is he still the boy I fell in love with? Or are the rumors true?

After all, everyone knows rock stars don't date nice girls.

Rock stars use nice girls.

The Problem with Forever by Jennifer Armentrout

Goodreads Summary:
For some people, silence is a weapon. For Mallory “Mouse” Dodge, it’s a shield. Growing up, she learned that the best way to survive was to say nothing. And even though it’s been four years since her nightmare ended, she’s beginning to worry that the fear that holds her back will last a lifetime.

Now, after years of homeschooling with loving adoptive parents, Mallory must face a new milestone—spending her senior year at public high school. But of all the terrifying and exhilarating scenarios she’s imagined, there’s one she never dreamed of—that she’d run into Rider Stark, the friend and protector she hasn’t seen since childhood, on her very first day.

It doesn’t take long for Mallory to realize that the connection she shared with Rider never really faded. Yet the deeper their bond grows, the more it becomes apparent that she’s not the only one grappling with the lingering scars from the past. And as she watches Rider’s life spiral out of control, Mallory faces a choice between staying silent and speaking out—for the people she loves, the life she wants, and the truths that need to be heard.

My Review:
The Problem with Forever just goes to show that just because someone is quite doesn't mean nothings going through their mind. Mallory has been conditioned by a tragic past to stay quite. However her mind is always thinking. She is always thinking about what to say in conversations. She was adopted by some awesome doctors and is finally going to public school for the first time. Given her bumpy past and her inability to really have conversations she is very nervous. I can't imagine after the kind of life she has had walking into high school. She handles it pretty well. She even took speech class which...may not go well. What she never prepared herself for was Rider. The boy from her past. The boy that knows what happened to her. The boy she never thought she would see again. So add that on to your first day of school and you get a pretty traumatic day. Mallory is a brave girl but, will Rider cause her recovery to regress?

What is a girl to do when the boy who knows your secrets, the reasons why you are the way you are is sitting next to you in class? I'd run but, after the shock of seeing Rider (and his girlfriend), Mallory reconnects with him. Who would have thought she could have a friend like that on day 1. These two have a lot to catch up on. Rider hasn't had the kind of life that Mallory got after their terrible foster home. They are different people now. Yet, so much the same. They quickly become close again and Mallory finally feels at home. They hash out a lot of important stuff. They also start to realize they kind of have new feelings. Feelings that are more then friends and protector.

This was a very interesting book. You get to see how the dynamic between Rider and Mallory has changed and how it has stayed the same after so many years. How drastically different peoples lives can be in the foster care system. Humanity can be so cruel and so amazing at the same time. I loved Mallory's story, even though it was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Jennifer Armentrout never lets me down!

The global bestselling author of The Girl in the Ice is back with a heart-racing, electrifying thriller. If you love Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Karin Slaughter, you’ll be hooked on Robert Bryndza.

Into the Deep by Missy Fleming

Goodreads Summary:
No one understands the fury of the ocean like Zoey.

Ten years ago, she lost her leg in a freak shark attack. The night after her sixteenth birthday, she has yet to accept her awkward prosthetic limb or the fact she will always be different. Wary of the sea, and its hidden threats, she ventures to a bonfire at the beach. She’s mesmerized by its awesome power, wondering what she ever had to fear, until a rogue wave sweeps her into the cool, salty water.

Zoey believed mermaids were creatures of legend, characters in silly children’s stories, but it’s hard to ignore the captivating tail that’s suddenly appeared, or the sense of finally being whole. She abandons her life on land in search of answers about who she really is and where she came from.

What she discovers is a kingdom full of intrigue and danger, as well as a royal father she never knew existed. Settling into her role as a mermaid princess, she learns her family is under attack, both on land and in the water. Raging storms swell up, threatening coastal cities, and sea levels rise practically overnight, endangering the lives of everyone she loves. Determined to stop the strange phenomena, Zoey becomes caught up in the race to track down what, or who, is responsible for the catastrophic events.

But, Zoey possesses another secret, one born of legend and more powerful than any mer or human can imagine.

My Review:
Zoey is not normal. She lost her leg in a shark attack and has been afraid of the ocean ever since. When her class goes on a field trip to an aquarium things go very wrong. I can't imagine how terrifying that would have been. After that she goes out with her friend after confronting her mother about the events at the aquarium. Her mom is acting very strangely about her going out after it. She does anyway and happens to go to the ocean. In which she gets hit by a wave and a very strange thing happens....she grows a tail. Surprisingly to Zoey she is not to afraid, and finally feels whole again. For the first time after losing her leg. Her mom can no longer put off the conversation. She need to explain things to Zoey. What Zoey doesn't realize is how much the answers she so desperately wanted will change everything. Now she must make a decision. A decision that will change her whole life.

I really enjoyed Zoey. She honestly could have been a regular girl. A friend even. She was very down to earth. Even with her terrible accident she lived life and was doing a pretty good job of it. Things changed a lot after she found out what she was. She then had to go to the ocean and decide which life she wants to have. She can't have both. It is a big decision to make. Even though she is curious and intrigued by the new underwater life she discovered. She has to choose between living with her Father or her Mother. This is an insanely hard decision. Especially with the dangerous sea witch playing a part. Zoey is needed to help defeat her and bring peace to the seas and prevent more damage to land. Is she ready for it?

There is some time for the princess to have a little romance too.  I liked this part because it started with friendship. It didn't go straight to hot mermaid love. Zoey needed help and protection when she first gets to her underwater home. What started as a friendship blossomed into forbidden love.

I can't wait for the next book. I really enjoyed this one. It brought me out of my reading funk I have been in lately.

Opposition by Jennifer Armentrout

Goodreads Summary:
Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can't believe Daemon stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

My Review:
Ok, I know. I waited FOREVER to read this book. I loved this series so much that I did not want to see it end. Katy and Daemon's story has been one of my absolute favorites. In Opposition, all hell has broken loose. The invasion has started. Luxen are definetly here for a reason. They are also pretty eager to kill humans. They kill them that assimilate their DNA so they look like normal people. Eventually you can't tell the difference anymore. Daemon and Katy do not have it easy. They are targets now and must work together to figure this out. Before everyone is dead. Before the Luxen take over the planet.

Although things are tense there is still some time for Daemon and Katy lovin. They are hot to trot at some points. I can't imagine it going any other way if the world was so close to ending. Which is so awesome by the way. It's about time these two had frisky time. They are forever a couple against the world. They have so much on their shoulders that taking some time to get away from it then they should. It was a hotter version of these books!

I loved all the secondary characters. There were so many plot twists that I didn't see coming. So many different directions the story went in. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. I was eager for more information. I found myself reading late into the night. Even though there were hot times, happy times, and funny times this book was also serious and sad moments. Katy went through a lot, a lot of pain to get where she did. It was not without sacrifice.

I loved this series. I am so sad to see it end but, I had to finally do it. I had to. I am glad  I did. this was an amazing series and I am glad I got the chance to enjoy it. It was so amazingly written. I can't wait for more books from this author.

In Ireland, she soon discovers that her mother's secret past is filled with tragedy. Trying to track down the truth, she begins going through changes of her own, until she's not sure just who - or what - she is anymore.

Then she meets the mysterious Sebastian, who won't leave her alone, and Ethan, who apparently can't stand to be near her. Both of them seem to have supernatural powers, and she's not quite sure whether they want to kill her or kiss her. Just when things are getting interesting, someone attacks her, and she gets a revelation that destroys everything she thought she knew about the world, humanity, and herself.

My Review:
This was a very fun read! I whipped through this book in a couple days. I was pulled so strongly into Clara's world that I didn't want to leave. After Clara's parents passed away she went to live with her grandpa that she didn't even know she had. Losing your parents is a huge life change. Having to move across the country on top of that is unthinkable. Maybe it will be a great distraction. Considering Clara didn't know she even had family. The transition is hard. As Clara starts to get to know everyone, secrets about her mothers life start to unravel. Why did she change her name and move to America? There are things about Clara's family she is only beginning to find out about. There is a lot happening around her and she is smack dab in the middle of it. Will she ever know who and what she truly is?

I really enjoyed Sebastian. He was a very fun character to get to know. So secretive. There were times I wanted to pull him out of the book and question him myself. I can't imagine being Clara and having to wait for him to give her information. I imagine it to be very frustrating and scary at the same time. Given all the physical changes she is going through. I also hope they he is the main romantic interest for Clara. I see the high potential for the dreaded love triangle brewing though. So we will see.

I immediately went to buy the next book but, it is not out yet! Sigh* I will have to wait for it to be released later this year. I am a terribly impatient person and I really want that book!

Goodreads Summary:
Everything about Jessie is wrong. At least, that’s what it feels like during her first week of junior year at her new ultra-intimidating prep school in Los Angeles. Just when she’s thinking about hightailing it back to Chicago, she gets an email from a person calling themselves Somebody/Nobody (SN for short), offering to help her navigate the wilds of Wood Valley High School. Is it an elaborate hoax? Or can she rely on SN for some much-needed help?

It’s been barely two years since her mother’s death, and because her father eloped with a woman he met online, Jessie has been forced to move across the country to live with her stepmonster and her pretentious teenage son.

In a leap of faith—or an act of complete desperation—Jessie begins to rely on SN, and SN quickly becomes her lifeline and closest ally. Jessie can’t help wanting to meet SN in person. But are some mysteries better left unsolved?

Julie Buxbaum mixes comedy and tragedy, love and loss, pain and elation, in her debut YA novel filled with characters who will come to feel like friends.

ARC Review of The Empty Jar by M. Leighton

Goodreads Summary:
Three months touring Europe.
Romantic. Dazzling. Unforgettable.
The trip of a lifetime.

But some lifetimes are shorter...

We couldn’t have known it would work out this way.
No one could. No one could’ve guessed that something so beautiful could be so tragic.

But it is tragic.

Yet so, so beautiful.

That’s what sacrifice is—beauty and tragedy.
It’s pain and suffering for something or someone you love.

And this is the ultimate sacrifice.
One stunning act of true love.

This is our story.

Our true love story.

My Review:
Prepare yourself before you read this book. It will do more then pull on your hear strings. It will break you and inspire you at the same time. Love is such a beautiful thing, sometimes it is taken for granted, this story will remind you that tomorrow is never a guarantee. This is Lena and Nate's tragic love story. A story that begins and ends in such a beautiful place. It reminds us all of the petty things that don't matter when it comes right down to it. That what matters most is the love between two people even in the darkest of times. When there is no hope, love shines. That is Lena and Nate. Two people who have loved each other for a decade and have been given this impossible obstacle. One that surely no good can come out of, right? Nate and Lena have some hard times ahead of them but, out of those hard times love is always there, always growing.

This is not a fantasy. These are two people going through the most real and terrifying thing that they can. They are not pondering divorce or worried about themselves. They are two people willing to give up their lives for each other. This is the kind of love we hope to have at least once in your life. If you are looking for a lot of drama and love triangles this is not the book for you. This one is about a pure love between two people. A love that is romantic, heartbreaking, and beautiful at the same time.

Nate has to be one of the strongest men I have ever read about. The decisions and things he is faced with during this time are insane. There are times he doesn't keep his cool, when he breaks down that are hard to read about. There is so much not knowing in a situation like this. He does it with great strength.

Lena...omg what can I say about this beautiful, selfless, strong woman. To do what she did knowing what was going to happen. I don't know how she did it. As a nurse myself, knowing to much about medical conditions and what they bring can be terrifying. She did it with grace and because of that beauty came from a tragic situation. I know this all sounds cryptic but, I will not give anything away in this one. One part in particular with Lena will be with me forever. At the end when she see's herself in the mirror...that whole section broke me. I had to stop reading for a minute to compose myself. When you get there you will understand.

I know this review makes this book sound like a sobbing mess. The truth is, it is a very real and very sad book. You will cry. It will be ugly crying. In the end you will know love and that true love can come out of a bad situation and people live through it. It is not easy, it is messy, but in the end it is beautiful. I am a nurse so maybe this effected me more. I have seen this story in real life. I have seen death. It hurts every time. It takes a very brave person to write a story like this. Great job M. Leighton. You need to hear that! And people you need to read this book!

Just some gifs because words can't aren't enough...
