This Week's Question

How do you cure a book hangover/blogging slump/reading slump? - Suggested by Take Me Away....

It's interesting that this was the question this week. As I am trying to get out of all of the above. I recently went on a week long tropical vacation followed by moving into my first house and starting a new job. I have been insanely buys and life has taken over and left little time for blogging. The best way for me to get back into the swing of things is by just getting back to blogging. It helps me get through the week as a fun thing to do instead of work haha. I love reading and usually I start a few books and I get pulled into an awesome story and get back on track. This has been the longest break I have ever taken (about 3-4 weeks now). I miss blogging and am excited to get back to it!

I really enjoyed the early works of this author and am willing to give a new series a chance. It sounds like an interesting book so I would love to read it!

I totally am stealing this one from a blog from last week. I am glad I stumbled across it last week. I have been out of the loop since my vacation them moving into my first house 2 days later! Richelle Mead is one of my favorite authors so I am excited for a new series from her!

My Review

Woohoo! We get to have some of Cal's story. His character was so interesting in the Legal Affairs series. Let me just say, that I didn't think I would like him more then Matt but, I kind of do in his own way! Cal is a dirty, dirty boy. He likes his women to be nice and proper but, freaks in the bed. Seriously. He is met with his match in Macy. She is even more kinky then him as you will see in a very hot pantry session. I wish I had a pantry after that! Cal isn't your typical scorned by a women and now is looking for someone to fix him. He is ready to settle down but, has a very sexual appetite. Macy is not. She only sees men through the agency where Mac met Matt. Will these two find what they are looking for?

Like I said, Cal is pretty freaky in the bed. Finding someone to satisfy him will be a challenge. Macy however is totally up for it. She just doesn't want a relationship. With her diary entries, you get the sense that something happened to her to make her this way. I am super curious to get more of her story! With the trouble she is now in and Cal the one who gets to be her lawyer things may get interesting. I think there will be a big conflict of interest with these two.

I loved the start to Cal and Macy's story. These two are two peas in a pod. It will be very interesting to see how and in what ways their relationship will progress. I can see it getting bumpy along the way. They are both strong personalities. Bring on the next installment!

My Review

First of all this book was amazing and contains many of my favorite authors. It was also published for a great cause. I am a nurse and I love to read so any time an opportunity like this comes up for me I am going to take it! Promoting such a great book for an even greater cause is my calling, it's why I love blogging. So, to the book! As a nurse I have always dreamed of "McDreamy" ok. Who hasn't right? The super hot doctor with amazing hair and a great body who wants to ravage you in a linen closet! Is this not every girls nurse dream?! This book will bring out those exact fantasies!! YAY! Oh, if real life were that exciting. There would be a lot of sick people with no nurses haha. Alrighty, lets break down the stories!

Who are able to tempt none other then super hot doctors who shouldn't cross that line. Oh the forbidden temptations! This is the prequel to her next Assassin novel that I am anxiously waiting for!! 


Closet Confession by Kindle Alexander

What would this series be without a little man on man action. Ironically this one does have hot moments in the on call room which I can only hope happens in real life haha! 

Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert

I absolutely loved Carson and Joss. They were an unlikely couple. Joss being an MD and Carson being the maintenance man. Let me tell you, I have not met a maintenance man like that in all my years in healthcare. Just sayin. This is a cute love story and was one of my favorites of the book! Sometimes we all need someone to get to our happy place.

Swimming in Shadows by Eden Butler

This was the first title I have read for this author. All I can say is I am so curious about what is going to happen in the next book. This one was more suspenseful then the others. Well done Eden I am hooked!

This was a great and quick read. I read it on a plane ride. The writing was excellent. I am honored to take part in this tour to promote this book and the cause. Please take the time to go get your own copy! The links are above!

This Week's Question

Have you ever been inspired by a book character to do something? Who was the character and what was it? - Suggested by Eternity Through Pages. 

I don't really have a specific character but, I think a lot of characters rub off on us. Like Toni Aleo's books for instance. I am married and on the fence about the whole kids thing. The way she writes about kids in her books makes me want to be a Mom. I know that's probably kind of weird but, coming from someone who never had that dream of motherhood it's pretty huge. I am also a nurse so anytime I read a book about a bad nurse it makes me want to be better.

My Thoughts:
Ok, I know what your all thinking...oooo vampires, give me something new. Well I happen to LOVE vampires and I think I always will. I have been in the market for a good vampire book and this one sounds right up my alley! So all you vamp haters can kiss it! 

ARC Review of Pocketful of Sand by M. Leighton

My Review:
Pocketful of Sand will touch your heart so be prepared to have your heart strings tugged. Eden has not had an easy life. Her parents didn't want children, so when Eden came a long she was given to a couple to watch. This was ok for a while until something happened. This something led to one of the best things in Eden's life. She was never the same after that night. Forever changed at an age when you shouldn't have to grow up. Cole is a beautiful man. He is handy too which is nice. Considering at one point her bathtub facet falls off the wall and is spraying water at her and everywhere and who comes to the rescue?? Cole! I can't image something like that happening. Seriously!!! He is gentle and sweet and broken. I can not imagine how he feels after what happened in his life. I simply would be broken. After Cole encounters Eden his heart does something it hasn't in a long time. Is it a betrayal? Can he get over his guilt and be happy again?

This book really touched my heart. Any time children are involved it is so much worse. Children can't protect themselves. Never have I been so angry with a character (Ryan)! You will understand when you read the book. Eden deserves a happy ending. How will it end? The choice is yours ;)
