Question this Week
If you could hangout with any author (living) who would it be and what would you do?

This is a hard question but, I think I would hangout with M. Leighton. The author of the Down To You series, Madly series, etc. She is such a nice person and is great with her fans. She has been great to me as a blogger as far as receiving ARC's and swag. What would we do? This might sound weird but, I would love to go to a signing event. I have never been to one and I think it would be super fun to see it from the authors perspective! Then we could maybe do the fun stuff haha!

Since all the talk about GFC going away, I would prefer if you follow via bloglovin or Linky :)

The Arrangement #5 by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:

Avery’s emotions are fried, but she doesn’t have to think twice about her BFFs Marty and Mel. They mean everything to her. They’re the family she doesn’t have. In a crisis, they’re the people to have by her side, and God knows this is a crisis. Friends like that are worth their weight in gold.

If only things with Sean were so simple. Regret is something that is impossible to subdue. There are still things to be said, things to do. Life is too short to live in the past, but when Avery wakes up at the hospital she finds that her world has changed.

Genre: New Adult Romance
This story unfolds over multiple volumes approx. 20,000 words each

My Review:
The Arrangement 5 picks up after the accident in volume 4. I waited so long to see what happened after the crash!! I honestly thought that this would be the turning point for Sean. That he would finally see how much he cared for Avery. He seems to just be back to his old ways. Avery now is saddles with crazy hospital bill due to her little accident. So what would you do if you had no money and now have to worry about the hospital bills because your not insured??? Continue working for Black of course! I feel so bad for Avery. I feel like she honestly has no other options and that is really to bad. I think she is an amazing and independent woman who is in a bad situation. Her "friendship" with Sean is tricky because of the immense sexual tension between the two. They have some hot hot moments! I found myself blushing during this one! I hope that Sean pulls his head out of his butt soon or Avery will not wait around for him.

I really enjoy Marty. I have said that before. He has to be one of the funniest characters I have read about. He brings a dash of comedy to bad situations. Great comic relief! I liked Mel for most of this book too. She seems like she has been there for Avery through a lot!

I don't even know what to say about Sean...He tells Avery that he is going to continue seeing hookers while she is working for Black. I mean it makes sense. Avery will be sleeping with other people for her job. He has   such a commitment issue and will not do the sexual things he likes to Avery. I am curious how messed up his sexual preferences are. I hope we get to find out! I just want to slap him upside the head and shake him. He needs to wake up!!

The ending of this book left me in shock. My mouth was hanging open and everything. You will never see it coming!!

This is literally what I did when I finished volume 6. I will set up the scene for you. The Doritos have been stolen from the goat. This has nothing to do with the book itself. It was just my reaction haha!

ARC review of Imaginable by J. Meyers

Goodreads Summary:

Twins Sera and Luke Raine’s unusual abilities are growing. Sera is healing vampires now, making them human again. And, at times, Luke can actually change the future he Sees.

But Sera’s healing has dangerous consequences, and though Luke is altering the outcome of more visions, he can’t control them yet.

Now Sera is in danger as the dark creatures of the Realm seek to use her. As Luke struggles to master his gift in order to save his sister, he discovers even more about his powers.

And what he learns just may put him in greater danger than Sera has ever been.

My Review:
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this one from the author. Just like the first one, I really enjoyed Imaginable! It brought back all my favorite characters like Sera, Luke, Jonas, Fey, and Brandan. Also there are a few new ones introduced. Even after book 1 ended with Lilith pretty much on a leash for the moment but, there are other things in the world and the Realm that are more dangerous. Imaginable brings a whole new meaning to "what goes bump in the night". I loved the way the Realm was described. It's like I could see it when I was reading. A lot of the story took place in the Realm. The pixies were kind of fun, not sure if Sera would agree but, I thought they were.

Sera is still in danger. Jonas and Fey are there to protect her but, those darn vampires and their teleporting. They make it so hard to keep up with them. Especially for the Gifteds. Luke loves Sera and is fiercely protective. Their relationship is just awesome. It reminds me of me and my brother actually. Sera will do anything to protect the people she loves and Luke is the same way.

When Sera is taken Luke kind of goes crazy. Sera is his other half, they are connected. Luke has been trying to bring a vision on command like Sera does with her healing. It isn't going good but, he tries for hours trying to get on to save Sera. They all must work together to find her because she has been taken to a very dark place. Vampires are not the worst thing out there. Other creatures want to be healed of their "afflictions" as well. They must work as a team to rescue Sera. Before she loses herself to the darkness. Fey is also conflicted because going after Sera means possibly going against the Councils wishes. Not everyone will survive this battle.

There is a little romance in this story as well. I was so excited to see what happens with Fey and Luke. I think they would be great together! Thorn kind of makes things between them kind of Rocky but, in the end I think she ends up with who she should be with. Sera also gets a little kissing action! Not with who I thought it would be either!! I was kind of shocked. I won't say who it was with but, I can't wait to see what happens with them!

I loved this book and read it in a day. If you haven't read this series then you should start now! It is full of so many paranormal creatures and has a great plot! I would highly recommend it.

Faceless by Jus Accardo

Goodreads Summary:

My name is Brandt Cross, and I died. Again…

I'm living in the body of a Six named Douglass Cain, a certifiable scumbag whose ability is on Zendean Industries—AKA Denazen's—most wanted list. There’s some serious bad going down, and Ginger, the leader of the Underground, sent me undercover to obtain information because people are dying.

My cousin, Dez, is dying…

Denazen thought they’d found a cure for the Supremacy decline, but they were wrong. That’s the bad news. The good news? Franklin Wentz.

Wentz, the owner of a genetic research company, is brilliant and just a little bit crazy. He’s unwittingly created a formula that may cure the sick Supremacy kids, and everyone wants it—including Devin, the super hot Resident.

Get the formula. Save the day. Don’t fall for the hot spy. Piece of cake.

My Review:
I truly love this series. And Brandt was a great new character to get to read about. His gift is so interesting. When his body died his sole jumped into the nearest living body. So even though his physical body died his sole and memory was intact inside a new body. He also inherits that person's powers and memories if he jumps to another body. So he is recruited to infiltrate the Zendean Industries to try to get into the mind of Wentz, the genius, and get the formula for the cure that will save Dez. He is fiercely loyal to his family and will do what he must to save Dez. Will he be able to get a handle on Cain's power and get the formula or will he diet trying....again?

Brandt inhabits the body of Cain throughout this book. Cain was basically a jerk with substance issues. His power is the power of persuasion and Brandt planned on using it to get the formula. He has a really hard time with it and things don't goes as planned. Innocent people are pulled in and the game becomes a lot more dangerous. Brandt has been in a total of 3 bodies now including his own and things are starting to get jumbled. He is worried he is going to lose his true self in there and become a faceless person...

He meets another Six who he quickly develops feelings for. He is able to jump into her dreams and he appears as Brandt. He gets to know Devin this way and starts to fall for her. She knows the real him and it kind of keeps him sane through this whole thing. I liked them together. I thought they were absolutely adorable! I really hope we get to see more of them in the future.

I really enjoyed these characters. I hope we get to see them more in the next installments of the series. I was sad when it ended because I kind of want to know what's going to happen with them! All in all a great novella for the series!!

Off Limits by Sawyer Bennett

Goodreads Summary:

“There is a vulnerability there, hovering just below the surface. And I want to pick at it until I expose it. Then I want to kiss it."

Two years ago, Emily Burnham, had an epiphany about the shallowness of her life. And she made it her mission to become a different person…a better woman. Out from under the controlling thumb of her mother, Emily is tasting the real world for the first time. And she likes it.

Nixon Caldwell has served his time in the Marine Corps, surviving two brutal tours in Afghanistan. He is back home, surrounded by what he likes best…isolation. It's certainly the best way to avoid confrontation of the consuming guilt that is weighing him down.

When an accident brings Emily and Nix together, he soon learns he is not the master of his own fate. Struggling with his own pain, Nix tries to guard himself against Emily’s charms. He wants her in his bed, but he doesn't want her in his heart.

Having grabbed life by the horns, Emily wants it all. But is she willing to accept just the small part of himself that Nix is offering? Can she reach the part of his soul that he has deemed to be Off Limits?

My Review:
Off Limits follows Ryan's sister Emily and takes place a few years after Off Sides. I didn't really like Emily much in the first book so I was worried about her being the main character in the second book. After starting Off Limits I quickly came around to love Emily! She has made a complete 180 in her personality and it's definitely for the better.

She is no longer the entitles snotty rich kid. She is going to college at Columbia in New York and loves being away from her parents. She is finally living life for herself and not just doing what her mother wants. The one faithful night she runs over a gorgeous man on his motorcycle! This man's name is Nix. He is a Marine and has served in Afghanistan. He has been working hard to overcome his issues since returning. Emily ends up having to work off her debt to him to pay for his motorcycle because her mother cuts her off. This leads to an interesting "relationship" if you can call it that. Will Emily be able to break through this mans hardened exterior? Or will casual no-strings attached sex be enough?

Nix is a very multidimensional character. Every time I thought I had him figured out things would change. He seems like a really hard person to get to know since he pushes everyone away. He has a reason for why he is the way he is but, I'm not saying what it is! Sorry, you have to read! Anyway, it is a legit reason that he is working on overcoming. It causes him to be dangerous at times. There are a few heated situations. Some that include Emily's butt of an ex Todd. We also learn a little more about him. Nix's tattoo's were very enticing! You will understand when you read it. He had the ability to make me really like him and want to punch him in the face at the same time. A very difficult challenge for Emily to peal back his layers. There is some serious sexual tension between these two. It is almost palpable and I loved it!!

I really enjoyed Emily and Nix's story. It was hard to put down. I had to keep reading it!! I read it in two days and loved the ending. We still got to see bits and pieces of Ryan and Danny which was great! I really hope their is another book about these two. I think there's a lot left in their story.

Goodreads Summary:

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.
Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.
The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.
Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

Goodreads Summary:
College junior Ariel Richmond is working on year three of Project Normalcy.
Her house reeks of keggers past and her bestie is just a slight bit vulgar. But the thing is—they both aid in making life refreshingly uneventful.
So much for hard-earned mediocrity when Luca Grinaldi appears on the scene.
Luca’s sudden presence on campus is hard to ignore. Those bright eyes act like a beacon to unsuspecting females, and with features like his, he’s got to be moonlighting for GQ. Luca hopelessly captivates Ariel with his confidence and charisma, but the mysteries surrounding him make him nearly untouchable. And just when Ariel grows close enough to unlock his secrets, a tragic event sends her life in a downward spiral.
That steady life is no longer an option and allies quickly become scarce. The mysterious Luca seems to be the only one willing to help her—but with that trust comes the burden of his secrets. He has a dark mission of otherworldly proportions, and is willing to sacrifice as many lives as it takes to see it completed.
Gone are the days of simply maintaining normalcy, and if Ariel isn’t cautious with her trust, so soon may be her future.

Emblaze by Jessica Shirvington

Goodreads Summary:

Once again Violet Eden faces an impossible choice ... and the consequences are unimaginable.

Violet has come to terms with the fact that being part angel, part human, means her life will never be as it was.

Now Violet has something Phoenix - the exiled angel who betrayed her - will do anything for, and she has no intention of letting it fall into his hands. The only problem is that he has something she needs too.

Not afraid to raise the stakes, Phoenix seemingly holds all the power, always one step ahead. And when he puts the final pieces of the prophecy together, it doesn't take him long to realize exactly who he needs in order to open the gates of Hell.

With the help of surprising new allies, ancient prophecies are deciphered, a destination set and, after a shattering confrontation with her father, Violet leaves for the islands of Greece without knowing if she will have a home to return to...

My Review:
I loved Emblaze! This series keeps getting better and better. Emblaze picks up with Violet and her group of Grigori have of the Exile scripture and Phoenix has the Grigori scripture. Phoenix wants to make switch so each party has their own. The Grigori are against this. By giving the Exiles their scripture they believe they will be able to raise Lilith. So they set up a drop and it ends up going terribly wrong and someone is kidnapped. This leads to a series of events that causes the Grigori to have to give up the real scripture. Loved ones are taken and relationships are tested. With the constant reminder of Rudy and Nyla, Violet and Lincoln continue to deny their feelings for each other.

With all this happening Violet is trying to deal with her connection to Lincoln and her Dad. Who has become suspicious about her late nights. He is asking questions. There are numerous times where Violet is so overwhelming with the situation and her feelings for Lincoln that she breaks down. She isn't the all powerful being that everyone says she is. She has truly human moments. It was nice to see this side of her. She can be human just like everyone else.

Now the the Exiles have their scripture the team bands together with old friends and new to try to stop Lilith from returning. Many human lives are at stake and Violet and Lincoln are at the center of this plot. A battle is in the future and lives will be lost. Will they prevent Lilith from returning? It all goes down on a mountain in Greece. Well a volcano is a better way to describe it. After a battle and almost self sacrifice the gates of Hell unleash more then Violet ever expected.

I still love Lincoln. I feel so bad for him and Violet. They are denying their love for each other because of what happened with Rudy and Nyla. It seems like a good reason but, as the book describes their soles are almost screaming out for each other. These two are the definition of sole mates. My favorite part was probably when they were with the incubus (you will see why) and the mouth of the volcano. These two better get together before the end of this series or I will go mad! After the events of Greece I know Phoenix has good in him and it will be interesting to see where his story ends up.

So many more questions now after Emblaze. I am curious as to where the story is going to go now. The author did set it up amazingly well though. I have high hopes for the next one and am really excited for its release!!!

Jodi needs to figure things out fast--because death is stalking her at every turn.

My Thoughts:
I am kind of cheating by picking this one because I was already approved for an ARC. But, I am excited to get it! I was drawn to this series because it was very different from what I have read before. I mean people who are the decedents of Medusa!?! Awesome right. I love mythology especially Greek so this one is an obvious choice. Here is the link to my review of the first book if your interested: ARC Review of Touch of Death.

Boundless by Cynthia Hand

Goodreads Summary:
The past few years have held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner could ever have anticipated. Yet from the dizzying highs of first love, to the agonizing low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she can no longer deny is that she was never meant to live a normal life.

Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her . . . even if it means breaking both their hearts. Leaving town seems like the best option, so she’s headed back to California - and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place.

As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one. . . . With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfill her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.

In the riveting finale of the Unearthly series, Clara must decide her fate once and for all.

My Review:
I have really enjoyed this series so far. I am sad to see it end. Clara was still pretty amazing. She is a strong independent woman who tries to do the right thing for her loved ones. Even though it may not always feel like the right thing to do for her. She goes through a lot. Her purpose seems like an ongoing thing. Like it's not one single vision. The visions she sees help her but, there isn't one sole purpose. Jeffery is also trying to figure out his life and get things in order. His life takes a turn down a dark road and Clara is worried she will lose him. He is kind of lost since his mom died.

There are some crazy twists that I didn't see coming. Seriously you will be shocked! The story keeps the reader engaged. Web is probably my new favorite character, you will see why. All of my other favorite characters make an appearance too. People like Clara's Dad, Tucker, Angela, Jeffery, Wendy, and Christian. They are all intertwined it seems. To me their purpose appears to be each other. Clara embarks on a crazy adventure to rescue Angela after some pretty intense events. Her friendship and faith stay true throughout. We get to find out who Christian's Dad is and I am pretty shocked. Especially by who his sister is! Will Clara ever truly be happy? Will she have a family? Will she end up with Tucker or Christian??

I always kind of had a soft spot for Christian. I felt bad for him because I felt like he would do anything for her. Life or death kind of stuff but, Clara was in love with Tucker. I liked Tucker, don't get me wrong, but I really liked Christian. The way the love triangle is "resolved" made sense I'm just not sure I really liked how it went. They were both great guys who loved Clara. It came down to who she loved more. So I am on the fence about that. The epilogue however, was great! I always like to see what happens in the future when the books ends. And which guy has a ring on his finger? I will never tell!!

I am sad to see this series end but, I really did love it. They were well written and I never felt like the different components of the story went together so well. Great series. I would highly recommend it!

Damaged by H.M. Ward

Goodreads Summary:

Life sucks. And, as soon as Sidney picks up the pieces something always knocks her back onto her butt. It's never pretty, but this time is different. This time pretty isn't even the right word.

Peter is the personification of perfection. It's like he fell off his angel perch in purgatory, because let's face it--any guy that hot has got to be naughty. He was probably sent here to ruin her life.

Peter is beyond beautiful with his sexy blue eyes, dark hair, and toned body. Add in his charming wit and Peter is everything Sidney ever wanted in a man, but when things get hot and heavy Peter shows her the door. Sidney takes the walk of shame and leaves. It's the end of the worst blind date ever. Her life couldn't possibly reach higher levels of suckage, but it does.

The next morning everything comes crashing down. The insanely hot guy from last night, the one that saw her half naked, is teaching at the front of the class room.

My Review:
It is no secret that I have loved everything from this author. Damaged was no different. I really enjoyed Sidney. She is a character who has been through a lot in her life. Things that no teenager should ever have to go through. And for her family to not side with her is just awful. She has a really hard time committing and for a good reason. I am not going to tell you why because it's a big part of the book. You will have to read! Anyway, she accidentally runs in to Peter. He turns out to be a great guy. Someone she can really talk to and  has went further romantically then anyone in a long time. She is still unsure if she can cross the line here. To much as happened in her past. There is also more involved with their relationship. Peter would lose his job if people found out about them and they are already suspicious. Will Sidney be able to risk everything for love? Her scholarship that she needs to keep in order to stay away from her family is on the line. Is love worth potentially losing her scholarship or Peters job??

Peter is  a super gorgeous guy with amazing blue eyes. Sidney sees in him the potential to move away from her past and actually live. Instead of hiding and picking apart every guy. Peter is not without his faults however. He has had a terrible past. He almost lost his life along with the life of the one he loved. He is also damaged goods. Unsure if he can really move on or if he should risk his job. They have fallen for each other against all odds. There are some pretty heated moments between them without much physical contact. I loved that. Serious sexual tension!

In the end when Sidney was confronted by her past, who goes by the name Dean, things get serious. People are hurt and will never be the same. For the record I loved that her brother and his best friend were named Sam and Dean. Big Supernarual fan over here!! Even if they were awful guys.

I really enjoyed this book and was luck to get an ARC. I hope the next one will come out soon. Especially with the way it ended. I am curious to see how a family reunion would go. I think Peter would protect her though.

In My Mailbox #23

In my Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kirsti, over at The Story Siren. It's a way for bloggers to share which books they received. I am hoping to do this every week, unless I have a slow week!

I tried a different format for this week. I added the summaries for each book. That way you know what the heck I am reading haha. So let me know what you think. It was also super hot shirtless guy week apparently so just an FYI :)
